She was 85. Mrs. ENGELHARDT was born December 28, 1916 at North Sanford, New York the daughter of Charles E. and Edith Emily NOXON OLMSTEAD. She was an engraver for Douglas Aircraft Company, a member of the Yellville Presbyterian Church and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Circle. Survivors include her brother, Edwin OLMSTEAD of Horse Heads, NY; and sisters, Alma PEARSON and June KELLEY both of Yellville, AR. Her parents and husband, Herman ENGELHARDT, preceded her in death. He was born January 26, 1938 at New York City, New York, to Joseph and Beatrice CORASA BURNS. He married Sandra WINTER BURNS on February 24, 1962 at Colchester, England. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the United States Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill lived In Mountain Home for 22 years, moving from Blytheville, Arkansas. He was an avid scuba diver and trainer. He trained the Initial Arkansas State Police Dive and Rescue Team. He was a member of the Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy of the home; two sons, Joseph BURNS (Carolyn) of Atlanta, Georgia, Shaughan BURNS (Paula) of Valparaiso, Florida; three daughters, Tracy BRUNS (Carl), Maria EMBACH (Tom), and Haley BURNS all of Mountain Home; mother, Beatrice BURNS of Jacksonville, North Carolina; sister Beatrice BEHAN of Jacksonville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and a very special friend, Doug GIBBS. Mr. BREIVOGEL owned and operated J&B Janitorial Service for 11 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Melrose Park, IL. He moved to Lakeview, AR in 1990 where he met wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Nestor and Erna BREIVOGEL of Lakeview and one son. Survivors include his two daughters and seven grandchildren, Virginia and her husband Mike along with their children Amy, Michael, and Briana PUSAVC of Forest Park, IL and Robin and her husband Greg along with Nicholas, Tia, Arianna and Alexandria HORVATH of Littleton, CO. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of December 26, 2002 issue: Lloyd Melvin RANEY, 76, of Non, Oklahoma died Monday, December 16, 2002 at his home. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 19, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Non Free Will Baptist with Gary Dodson officiating. Burial followed in the Gerty Cemetery in Gerty, Oklahoma with James SUMMER, James DODSON, Leroy DUNN, Max SWEETIN, Jim THORTON and A.F. CURTIS serving as pallbearers. Mr. RANEY was born November 17, 1925 at Paden, Oklahoma to Clarence Cyrus and Ona GAGE RANEY. He spent his youth in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He graduated from Gerty High School in 1947 after serving two years in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Philippines where he received the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on June 2, 1946 as a SV-6 (seaman first class). On August 5, 1948 he married Kathleen TURPIN and they had five children. Lloyd was a tool and die maker for LTV for 18 years and built Ranger boats in Flippin for 15 years. He was a self-taught musician who played the guitar, mandolin and fiddle. He also built fiddles for his friends. Mr. RANEY loved to fish, work crossword puzzles, play 42 and play music. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Allen, Oklahoma. His parents and brother, Laurence RANEY, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Kathleen RANEY of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Lloyd and Carla RANEY of Non, OK and Farrell Gene and Vicki RANEY of Everton, AR; daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Charlie RANGEL of Alvord, TX, Kathy and Robert BAUER of Muenster, TX and Sherry and Garry WHITE of Harrison, AR; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Lonnie RANEY of Antlers, OK and Clarence RANEY of Shawnee, OK; sisters, Iva TURPIN of Calvin, OK Elsie HICKS of Gerty, OK and Hazel MYERS of CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was married to Marfan Rose GRIFFIN on April 2, 1935 at St. Paul Minnesota. After her death, he married Deon BAIRD CALDWELL on August 12, 1989 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the owner of a Canteen Service Company for 34 years. Edwin lived in the Gassville area since April 1973 moving here from Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mountain Home and AARP. He is survived by his loving wife, Deon ENGFER of the home; daughter, Janice WIECHERT (Norman Henslin); brother, Fred ENGFER; three sisters. Harriet TREGILGAS, Lois CALDIS (Harry) and Elaine OGREN (Earl); grandchildren Paul WIECHERT (Sheryl) and Lorelei WIECHERT; great grandchildren, Jennifer and Kristi WIECHERT; five nieces; five nephews; two step-sons: one stepdaughter; ten step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. Formerly of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Mrs. CRAWFORD moved to Bull Shoals in 1983. She enjoyed camping outdoors and water. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of December 26, 2002 issue: Verona "Roni" GABEL HURD of Flippin, Arkansas died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was 86. She had been in ill health since September. Visitation was held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2002 at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville. Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2002. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2002 in the Old Cemetery in Hawkeye, Iowa. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye of which she was a lifelong member. Mrs. HURD was born on February 1, 1916 in Hawkeye, Iowa to Charles and Pauline DAUDEL GABEL. Her father died in 1953 and her mother in 1981. Early in life she owned and operated a beauty parlor in Hawkeye. On November 8, 1948, she married Kenneth W. HOUSEMAN in Concord, Massachusetts. Mr. HOUSEMAN was a New Englander who had come to Iowa as a radio announcer. After their marriage, they lived in several locations throughout the country where Mr. HOUSEMAN worked in early network TV. Later, they worked together in motel management in California and Georgia until Mr. HOUSEMAN'S health began to fail at which time they retired to Fredericksburg, Iowa where Mr. HOUSEMAN died in 1974. On July 8, 1986, she married Grover L. "Bill" HURD and moved from Fredericksburg to Flippin. Mr. HURD was a Hawkeye native who had owned Ben Franklin Department Stores in Iowa and Nebraska prior to his retirement to Flippin in 1973. Mr. HURD was well known in the area for his musical talents and played trombone in the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra until past the age of 90. Mr. HURD died in January of 2000. Mrs. HURD has no immediate surviving family members.
