Dlbert SHIPPEE, 89, Lakeview Delbert SHIPPEE, age 89, of Lakeview, died June 1, 2000 at his residence. Mr. SHIPPEE was born Sept. 7, 1910 in Mechanicsville, NY, the son of George Anderson and Adelaide SHIPPEE. In Dec. 1978 in Batavia, AR he was united in marriage with Mary MUNTZEL. He was a self-employed carpenter, enjoyed woodworking and had been a resident of the area for 30 years, after relocating here from Cape Cod, MA. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; his son Lawrence SHIPPEE of Lakeview; his daughters, Rowena HALL of Okeechobee, FL, Sandra RANDALL of Sacramento, CA and Virginia GREEN of Plymouth, MA; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services and burial were private under the direction of the Cremation Society of North Arkansas in Mountain Home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks. (Submitted by Dawn Gray Mt. The body of drowning victim, Robert MOHAN, 39, of Springfield, Ill., was recovered from Buffalo National River, June 2, at about 5:50 p.m. near Arnold Bend, two miles upstream from Tyler Bend.

Mt Echo Newspaper, Aug 3, 2000 issue: "In Loving Memory of John McCaddon". John MCCADDON died Jun 5. He was born May 23, 1910, in Mt. Claire, NE, the 2nd sone of Lillian Rose (BROCKWAY) and Lloyd J. MCCADDON. His brother's name was Clifford Earl. He was born in March, 1907. John's ancestors ilved in Kansas since the early 1800s and his great, great, great grandfather immigrated to America from the Isle of Man. John's father was a depot agent who worked for the Colorado and Southern Railroad and his young family traveled the midwest. John started working at an early age. He traveled by railcar t boxing matches, where he boxed professionally. He worked for the Climax Mine in Leadville, CO. He met Theresa Ann ROSE and married her i the fall of 1933. Three children were born from this union; Verla in 1934 (she died in 1944), John Wilfred "Jack" in 1938 and LaVonne Ann in 1939. All three were born in Fail, CO, on the homestead of Theresa Ann's family, who settled in CO in 1893. Theresa died in 1952. John joined the military (Navy) at an early age, before his marriage in 1933. He also enlisted in the Coast Guard and was discharge in 1951. After that John joined the Merchant Marines and retired as a Master Electrician in 1971. John met and married Margaret CURTIS of New Orleans, LA while his ship was in port in 1959. She was owner and operator of a boarding house in New Orleans. She died in 1996. John sailed to many countries. He was a boxer who trained under ex-heavy-weight champ Corey. He belonged t the International Brotherhood of Electrical Works, the National Maritime Union, a miner's union and Masons Palos Verdes Lodge #389. Survivors are his sister, Verla, of Troy, CA, cousins Choral STOVER and Clay CHRISTENSON of KS, his son John "Jack" of OK and his daughter Lavonne WALDIE of FL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Stella May BURLESON, 87, Yellville Stella May BURLESON, age 87, of Yellville, died June 7, 2000 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. Mrs. BURLESON was born Apr. 8, 1913 in Pyatt, the daughter of William Issac and Lula Bell (UNDERWOOD) RHOTON. She was a homemaker and a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Yellville. Survivors include her son Fred BURLESON of Centralia, WA ; her sister, Ruby Von ESSEN of Yakima, WA; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. BURLESON was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George B. BURLESON and her son, Doyel BURLESON. Services were held at the Main Street Church of Christ with Steve Altheide officiating. Burial was at the George's Creek Cemetery with Bill B. BURLESON, Bull G. Delores Shirley JEPSON, 74, Flippin Dolores Shirley JEPSON, age 74, of Flippin died Jun 7, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. JEPSON was born Apr 13, 1926 in Watertown, SD the daughter of Fred and Sylvia (CARPENTER) THESENVITZ. On July 16, 1946 in Pipestone, MN she was united in marriage with Bearyl Edward JEPSON. She was a clerk for EZ mart for 11 years and attended the White River Full Gospel Church. Mrs. JEPSON traveled extensively in Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Iran, Alaska and the Philippines. Survivors include her husband Bearyl Edward JEPSON of the home; her son, Tony JEPSON and his wife, Diane, from Dixon, CA; her daughters, Sharon FOSTER of Orange County, CA and Jolene TREAT and her husband, Lou of Flippin; her brothers, William THESENVITZ of Wentworth, SD and Robert THESENVITZ of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister, Irma Jean MCCARTHY of Seattle, WA; her pet bird "Pete"; six grandchildren; four great-grand-children and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services were private. Arrangements were by the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors of Bull Shoals. Billy Joe CROSSWHITE 68, of Naches, WA died June 7 after a long battle with cancer. He was born at Lead Hill on March 1, 1932, the son of Astor J and Agnes M. (BAGLEY) CROSSWHITE. He worked at Boeing for 20 years and moved back to the Yakima Valley in 1975, spending the last 25 years as an applie rancher. He was very active as past president of the larfortune Ditch Company and was former treasurer of South Naches Irrigation District. Mr. CROSSWHITE was married for 50 years to the late Darlene (MCLEAN) CROSSWHITE of Yakima. He is survived by his mother of Tieton; daughters Tamra of Seattle and Pam and husband Msgt. Dave HODGES of Phoenix, AR; a son, Timothy of Naches; two granddaughters; three brothers, Fred, John and James; and two sisters, Pauline PURDOM and Peggy WALKER of the Yakima Valley. He also leaves his finance, Leesie SCHNEIDER, who gave him great comfort during the last year of his life. A Third-Degree Mason who held God close to his heart, Mr. CROSSWHITE was a family man who loved family and friends. He truly "new knew a stranger." He traveled extensively and never missed an opportunity to stop and visit with loved ones.

Leo KEYS, 93,Yellville Leo KEYS, age 93, of Yellville, died June 8, 2000 at his residence. Mr. KEYS was born Mar. 11, 1907 in Marion County, the son of Warren and Belle (NOWLIN) KEYS. On Feb. 9, 1942 he was united in marriage with Ona METHVIN who preceded him in death on June 27, 1995. He was a self-employed farmer and surveyor. Survivors include his daughter Leota DWYER and her husband, John of Yellville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. KEYS was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Leslie KEYS and Celina CARSON. Services were held at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Jon Hendrix officiating. Burial was at the Layton Cemetery in Yellville. Steve JONES, Larry DAVENPORT, Joe DAVENPORT, Bill OWEN, Paul HUDSON and Jimmy MILLIGAN served as pallbearers. Mary Louise GIOVANETTI, 69, Flippin Mary Louise GIOVANETTI, age 69, of Flippin, died June 8, 2000 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center. Mr. GIOVANETTI was born Oct. 10, 1930 in Carterville, IL the daughter of George Eugene and Effie Mae (WILLIAMS) KIRK. On May 29, 1953 in Chicago, she was united in marriage with Bill Lee GIOVANETTI. She was a retired factory worker for Vilutus Packing Co., a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and had lived here since 1986. Her former residence was Orland Park, Ill. Survivors include her husband, Bill Lee GIOVANETTI; her daughter, Sandra ROBERTSON and her husband, Michael of Atlanta, GA; her son Bill GIOVANETTI and his wife, Joella of Midlothian, Ill.; her grandchildren, Daniella REYNOLDS of Crown Point, Ind., Joshua Alan LITTLE of Cartersville, Ga and Brianna Marie GIOVANETTI of Midlothian, Ill.; four great-grandchildren and three nephews. Mrs. GIOVANETTI was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers. Services were held at the Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn McClure officiating. Burial was in Carterville, IL. Arrangements were by the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors in Mountain Home. On June 9, 1948 she was united in marriage with C.H. PATTON who preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, Greg and his wife, Rhonda PATTON of Pyatt, and Charlie PATTON of Pyatt; her daughters, Paula and her husband, Jim NOLAN of Bull Shoals and Jodi and her husband, Gary HOWARD of Flippin; her brothers, Nick KORSMO of Vernonia, OR and Bill KORSMO of Poulsbo, WA; her grandchildren, Teri ELISON, Traci SMAUELSON, Jessica HOWARD, and Corey PATTON; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer WILBURN, Brandi WILBURN, Monica SMITH, Torrey ELISON and one step-grandchild, Donald DEAN. Mr. HUDDLESTON was born Aug. 6, 1912 in Flippin the son of Pearl W. and Pollye (KEETER) HUDDLESTON. He was a farmer and a retired fishing guide. On Nov. 16, 1935 in Flippin he was united in marriage with Charlsie KEETER. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and was a avid fisherman. He was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Survivors include his wife, Charlsie HUDDLESTON of the home; his sisters, Theo MCNEMAR of Hollister, MO, Guyla Wood of Flippin, Rachel VANZANDT of Flippin, Dollie Mae BENTON of Mountain Home, Zelma Mae BAY of Findlay, OH, Thelma RAY, of Raytown, MO and several nieces and nephews. Mr. HUDDLESTON was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Services were held at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Hicks officiating. Timothy BAUER, 44, Houston, Texas Timothy BAUER, 44, of Houston, TX, died June 14, 2000 at Memorial Hermamn Hospital in Houston. There will be a memorial Mass for Tim on July 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Church in Yellville. He was born Sept. 19, 1955 in Wheaton, MD. He is the son of Bernice BAUER of Peel, AR. He was preceded in death by his father Roger BAUER. Tim is survived by his brother, Roger BAUER of Houston. His sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy and Walter KING, of Columbus, OH and Patty and Samuel HULL of Garland, TX, and nine nieces and nephews. Tim graduated from Yellvile-Summit High School, served eight years in the Navy, graduated from Aero-Tech School in Dallas, TX, worked for Pan-American Airways in New York until they closed. In 1998 he moved to Houston and worked in construction. Tim donated his organs to LifeGift of Houston. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Tim family and friends bid Godspeed. Agnes Grace FINLEY, 91, Missouri Agnes Grace FINLEY, age 91, of Nixa, MO died June 21, 2000 at Christian Health Care in Nixa. Mrs. FINLEY was born Dec. 17, 1908 in Henderson, AR the daughter of Ben and Millie COPELAND. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church of Flippin. Survivors include her son, Edward FINLEY and his wife, Maxine of Nixa; her brother, Percy COPELAND of Mountain View, AR; her sisters, Pearl LANDRUM and Stella DUNCAN , both from Arkansas and Fannie PITZER of Modesto, CA; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. FINLEY was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elzie FINLEY and her son, Edsel FINLEY. Graveside services were held at the Flippin Cemetery in Flippin with Bro. Loletia DOANE, 73, Flippin Loletia DOANE, 73, of Flippin, AR, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2000, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center in Flippin. She was born on February 28, 1927, at Miami, FL, the daughter of Frank and Thelma (HAWKINS) KELLEY. She was united in marriage on May 4, 1950, to Simeon DOANE. She was a retired telephone operator. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, gardening and flowers. She is survived by her husband, Simeon,; one daughter, Sharon Lee LOTZ, Lakeland, FL; one son, Rev. Don DOANE, Woodbury, MN; two brothers, Donald and David KELLEY, both of Cincinnati, OH; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. Visitation was held prior to funeral services, which were held at Burns Funeral home on Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Don Doane officiating. Roger T. SIMON, 63 Flippin Roger T. SIMON, age 63, of Flippin, AR, passed away on June 22, 2000. He was born on November 30, 1936, Milwaukee, WI, the son of Otto and Margaret (SCHUET) SIMON. Mr. SIMON was a resident of West Allis, WI prior to moving to Flippin. He was a retired dock worker for the trucking industry and enjoyed working on classic trucks. He enjoyed fishing with friends. He is survived by his daughter, Laurel T. WALTERS, Muskego, WI; one sister, Dorothy ORIDA; one brother, Jim SIMON, AR; and one grandchild. His parents preceded him in death. A memorial service was held Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Burns Funeral Home chapel, with Minister Paul Huskey officiating. Burns Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Loyd O. TICE, Jr., 67, Yellville Loyd O. TICE, Jr., age 67, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was born January 6, 1933, in Putnam, OK, the son of Loyd O. TICE, Sr. and Hazel (HAGGARD) TICE. He was united in marriage to his wife, Barbara, on May 17, 1956. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, as a Staff Sergeant in communications and was a veteran of Korea. Mr. TICE was a retired construction superintendent for Huber-Hunt-Nichols Construction Company of Indianapolis, IN. He moved to Yellville in 1994, from Jacksonville, FL. His family moved to Burlington, KS when Loyd was six years old, there he graduated from Burlington High School in 1950. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son, David TICE, Harrison, AR; two daughters, Laura FRANKLIN, and her husband, Don, of Richland, IN, Melissa KOESTER and her husband, David, of Wadesville, IN; his mother, Hazel TICE, Burlington, KS; one uncle, William TICE and his wife, Joyce, of Yates Center, KS, two brothers, Don TICE and his wife Darlene, of Burlington, KS, Larry TICE and his wife, Marge, of Burlington, KS; two sisters, Mary WALLING and her husband, Red, of Burlington, KS, Jeanie FRIEND and her husband, Steve, of Burlington, KS; four grandchildren, Christine and Walker FRANKLIN, Jillian and Jarrod KOESTER; nine nieces and nephews.
