Looking for burial spot of ancestor killed in Civil War at "Dewall's Bluff" "DuVall's Bluff", or "DeValls Bluff" Arkansas, 31 Aug 1865. His name was Edward T. COX, a First Sergeant of Lt. in the 11th Regiment, Missouri Cavalry (Union), possibly Company F. His name does not show up in the Little Rock Natl. Cemetery on-line information. His wife is buried in Missouri. Her maiden name was Maridna OSBORN.

I am seeking information concerning Spotswood JONES his wife Anson JONES and their son William JONES, all of whom appear on the 1860 Prairie Co. Census for White River Township. William had four daughters still at home at that time: Mariah, Elizabeth, Virginia and Emma. They were caring for my great-grandfather, Charles Edgar JOHNSON, who was six months old at the time of the census. His parents, or at least his mother, was dead.

Looking for any info can find on John M.B. BOWEN b. about 1820 in SC. Wife's name was Nancy FEWELL. She died in late 1850's or early 1860's. He remarried a Miss DOUGLAS and had one son Logan. I was told he settled in Prairie Co. but have been unable to find in 1870 or 1880 census. Any info appreciated. Roy in AL

William Sanford BROWN, Sophira McCLANAHAN died 26 Oct 1862 Pulaski CO. AR. Anderson J. BROWN, Mary Ann BROWN died 23 March 1849 Prairie CO. AR. Frances D. I am looking for information on the ALLISON/ALISON family that are in Arkansas Prairie-Lonoke County on the 1850 Census. I can not locate which area in Tenn that William M. ALLISON and Sally Ann ROBINSON came from or when. They are located next door to Thomas ALISON dwelling 76 & 78 page 304 and Harriet ALISON and children: Nancy 20, Catherine 18, Jefferson Thomas 15, George W. 12, Harriet 7, and Julian Oliver 10. I believe Thomas and Harriet are WIlliam's parents. They were all listed as being born in Tenn. but I can not locate a county or a connection or dates to Tenn. I found Sally and William's marriage in Madison, Tenn., Aug. 20, 1848. I would like to find more information on the family movement to Arkansas. I would appreciate any help in these areas.

This is an update to my family line. Anything sound familiar? William Joseph VANDERGRIFF/VANDERGRIFT married Sarah Jane BARTON, June 1867 in Des Arc. Daughter of Henderson Barton and Matilda Fortner. Their son James (Thomas) is my ggrandfather, he married Laura Ann JOHNSON (DOBBS) Oct 1887 Prairie Co. Daughter of Joseph DOBBS and Mary Erma McKEMY. (Tom) and Laura had these known children: Cordele, Fred, Emma,and Bessie. Fred married Velma WOODS Apr 1931 in Ok, Emma married Frank M. DOOLEY 1909 in Prairie Co. I believe that either Cordele or Bessie married Russell Gaylord WEDGE between 1910 - 1912. Frank M. DOOLEY had 2 children from a prior marriage to Lilly/Lidda ?. The children were named Andrew and Clyde H. Frank M. and Emma VANDERGRIFF had 3 children, Joseph T, Edith, and Emma L. Russell Gaylord WEDGE and ? had twins, Sarah and Clay. Frank M. DOOLEY and William B. DOOLEY were brothers; their mother is Emily McNEELEY. Her 2nd husband is either George or Thomas HOWARD.

Nathan SPARKS and Susan HOLLIFIELD were married in Prairie County on October 19, 1869. I am trying to find out something about the HOLLIFIELD of various spellings of Prairie County. I hear some are buried in an old cemetery in Wattensas Wildlife Refuge. My ancestor, Polly Ann HOLYFIELD b TN married James CHAFFIN in Prairie County on July 26, 1859.

My great grandfather's brother died in Prairie County on 18 Jan 1868. His name was Thomas ARMSTRONG. I found a Thomas ARMSTRONG in the Prairie Co. "Deaths Abstacted From Earliest County Newspapers" Feb. I believe I have found my great grandfather's brother's death notice in Prairie Co. AR "Deaths Abstracted From Earliest County Newspapers Feb 1866-Feb 1869". His name was Thomas ARMSTRONG. I'm wondering if someone could look this up and perhaps provide more detail? I'll be happy to pay copying and postage fees. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for descendants of the MITCHELL family who lived in Prairie County. I noticed that there was a W.T. MITCHELL and a Sarah MITCHELL listed in the cemetery index. Could anyone tell me how I can find out what cemetery they were buried in? Also does anyone have access to the W.P.A. Pioneer families Book? I noticed that MITCHELLs were in this book also.
