Need assistance finding the descendants of Willis MARTIN. Willis is listed on the Prairie County 1850 Census as living in Prairie Township, House No. 2. I am not sure whether this is today's Prairie County or Lonoke County.

I am the grdaughter of Mary SISSON and Oscar ULAND. They lived their life in Des Arc, and this is where they raised their family. I am looking for family members of the ULAND or SISSON families who would like to share family info. I have lots on my family and since we live in Michigan it's hard to get info on the family in Arkansas. My mother, her sister, Betty, and myself are coming to Des Arc the first week of June.

I have new info on my Laura VANDEGRIFT (DOBBS). According to her funeral record that I just received, her full birth name is: Laura Ann DOBBS. DOB is 6/7/1868 Place of birth: Arkansas DOD: 2/28/1952 83 years of age Place of Death: Belle, Mo. Buried at Liberty Cemetery, Belle, Mo. Her father is named as: Joseph DOBBS; Mother: unknown. Does anyone know who she is? She lived in DeValls Bluff from 1881 to at least 1920 where I found her in that census. She married J.Thomas VANDERGRIFT 10/24/1887. My grandfather was born in DeValls Bluff 5/31/1897/98, his name is Thomas Fred, I believe he went by Fred as listed in the 1920 census. I also believe she was the sister to John Cord DOBBS & Mrs. TURRENTINE of Little Rock. There are DOOLEYs related to this family. Any additional info will be appreciated, please e-mail me privately at: wishis29@nep.net Thank you for any responses. Alice

Could you tell me if there is a place in Prairie Co. called Grand Prairie or Prairie City? It has been family legend that William DANIEL and Georgia BAGWELL died there on their way to Texas. The rest of the family moved on to Texas. They came through Mississippi. Could this be the area? Thank you.

Dr. A.D. (Andrew) LOWRY moved to Des Arc, Prairie Co, AR abt. 1860. He was listed on the 1860 census there with wife Mary and children William, Martha, Permelia, Amerika and Emma. He was killed by Jayhawkers there in April of 1864. In the fall of 1865, his family moved to TX. The only one I have been able to trace after that is William, my great grandfather. I would like to know where Andrew is buried and what became of the other family members.

I am looking for any record of my Great Grandfather, Benjamin W. CORN, who came to Arkansas abt 1860 with wife, Elizabeth and children. He was a doctor. When county lines changed they were in the Lonoke/England area. William was my Grandfather. He married an EAGLE (jennie) ? Later married my Grandmother, Nannie CLEMENTS of Lonoke. Forrest CORN was a doctor in Lonoke. Another son of Benjamin called Ben, was a Pharmacist and ran for a public office in Caroline Township after it became part of Lonoke. I think when they came to Ark. they lived with the Floyd BOSTICK family. Floyd was a brother of Elizabeth CORN all were from TN. I need to find them on a census or anything. Any help you could give me I would appreciate. I am at a brick wall. Thank you so much, Nancy
