Photo was taken probably about the time they were married 1879-1880, maybe in Fayette Co., IL. They moved to Ozark Co., Missouri after March 1883 and before March of 1885. They were in Marion Co., Arkansas by January 1887. They flip-flopped back and forth from Missouri to Arkansas several years before settling in Marion County.
Bryant aka Hence MERRIMAN, son of John Morgan MERRIMAN / MERRYMAN and Margaret SCRIBNER, both born in TN. The most common used spellings were MERRIMAN and MERRYMAN.
Hence was married two times. First wife was Mary Ann McCARTY, b: 1844 d: 08 Jan 1879, IL; md: 22 Dec 1860, IL. Their children were John A.; James M.; Curtis aka Curt/Kirk; Thomas Monroe aka Roe/Row; and Charles Sumner aka Sumner, all were born in Fayette Co., IL.
Alice Jane HENDERSON, daughter of George A. HENDERSON and Priscilla WILLIAMS (Woodard, div). George b: in IN, Priscilla in IN or IL.
Hence and Alice had the following children: George Oliver; Douglas E./M.; and Ella Jane were born in Fayette Co., IL; William Henderson was born in Ozark Co., MO; Silas; Mary Ann; Franklin; Julia May; and Bryant were all born in Marion Co., AR; and Willis aka Poppy was born at Longbottom, Marion Co., AR.
