TALBURT REUNION: Friday & Saturday, June 13-14, 2008 at the Ramada Inn in Mt. Home, Arkansas
It doesn't seem that long since our last Reunion and it's not long until Reunion 2008. The Talburt Reunion will be June 13-14, 2008 at the Ramada Inn in Mt. Home, Arkansas. The arrangements will be about the same as last year. On the 13th, we will meet at Junior and Francis Talburt's Home for visitation, tour of some area where kinfolks lived, tour of Fredrick Jr.'s Home place and well, and then back to Junior's for a fish fry with all the goodies. . Registration will start at 9:00 AM on the 14th and activities will start at 10:00 AM. Lunch at 11:30; auction at 1:00 PM; visitation after auction until 4:00 PM. So mark your calendar for June 13-14. Please bring something to sell at the auction!!! This goes to support keeping the Athens Cemetery Clean. Send me an email, if you plan to come, so that we can determine how many we will have for lunch. NAVE FAMILY REUNION: Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Protem, MO Community Church
We hope to start about 10:30 A. M. and end when all are gone. Potluck lunch at 1:00 P. M. except barbecued meat and drinks will be furnished. Protem is located on MO Highway 125 in Taney County and is near where "Jake"Nave (1814-1890) settled on the White River in then Marion County, AR and built a ferry to cross the river on which was in use until covered by Bull Shoals Lake. His brothers William, Abraham, Isaac and John as well as his sisters Catherine, Redisa and Elizabeth married and lived in this same area.

The Wolf Family Reunion, Saturday June 23, 2007: Friends/Allied Family Members are invited to The Wolf Family Reunion, at the Community Building in Salesville, AR on Saturday June 23, 2007. Registration will start at 8:00 AM with family portrait at Wolf House at 10:00 AM and trip to Old Wolf Cemetery at 10:30 AM. A hotdog lunch will be served back at the Community Center at 12 noon with business meeting and program to follow. The "Family History Lesson" will be a great treat this year - so we are keeping the details under wraps for now.
We will display the Table of Contents for the digitized items (1000+) contained in the family history preservation collection. You can find out what we have been able to get scanned, so far, and what the format of the material is, and what the status of the project is.
We welcome all members of the family and its allied branches as well as any family friends to come and join us. Be sure to get your star on the family tree, showing your line of connection, if it is NOT already there.
We would like a head count of the lunch bunch. So e-mail b-view@centurytel.net to let us know you will be there for that.
We would like for you to bring pictures and other documents to share. We will have a scanner available for use. The computer database will be available for review. We are using the time for a work session to try to get an individual digital portrait as well as an individual video of everyone in attendance.

WILLIS EVANS/MARY (PACE) EVANS FAMILY REUNION: Sunday, june 24, 2007, To: All Friends and Relatives. Had a call from Mary (Evans) Smith this morning. She, Bonnie Richey, Betty Rose and some of Betty's Children were at the Peel, Arkansas School House which recently has been used as a church. Betty Rose's family has purchased the building and grounds which is in front of Betty Rose's former home. The old Peel, Arkansas School House is located at the north end and east side of highway 125 in the small village of Peel, AR about 5 mile south of the Missouri-Arkansas State Line.
We will have our annual EVANS/PACE REUNION at the school/church this year. This is the neighborhood where Grandpa and Grandma EVANS raised their family in the late 1800's and early 1900's.
The Reunion will be on SUNDAY, JUNE 24, 2007. If you want to arrive early, the building, which is air conditioned, will be open about 10:00 a.m. We will have a "POT LUCK" LUNCH about 12:30 p.m. and "ALL DAY" VISITING.

FANCHER ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING AND REUNION: Decendants of James and Elizabeth (Carlock) Fancher are holding their annual family meeting and reunion June 25 & 26, 2005 in Berryville AR. Many descendants of these Fanchers have ties to Marion County Arkansas. To be presented at the meeting will be a discussion about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and the various wagon train groups that were massacred in Utah, 1857. The "Crooked Creek Train" from Sugar Loaf Township, Marion County was among those included in the trains that met up at Salt Lake and were massacred. Those families with ties to the FANCHER group were COKER, WOOD, WILSON, OWENS, and STALLCUPS.  DeShields-Wilkerson Reunion - Just thought I would let everyone know the DeShields-Wilkerson Reunion will be Friday night - August 1st, 2003 from 4pm to 11pm at the Jones Center in Springdale, Arkansas. I know the Friday Night will be a problem to some, but come if you
can. Some won't be arriving until 7pm so try.
The Wilkersons and DeShields were from Carroll, Boone County in the area of
Sugarloaf Township and Bergman areas. These areas were in Carroll, Marion and
Boone. (They reached as far as Yellville) Would like to invite everyone
related to these families to come. Bring the kids as the Jones Center for Families has Ice Skating, Swimming, Pool, Movies, and other activities and it will all be free if you request
tickets early. This reunion was scheduled by Bill Wilkerson of Raleigh North

Tales from the Crypt-Matthews Reunion Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of August 1, 2002 issue: On Saturday, August 10th, join descendants of Captain Robert and Nancy MATTHEWS for "Tales From the Crypt", a reenactment of this pioneer family's impact on the history of Pineville and Calico Rock. Whether you are a relative (including MCNEILL, NOE, SCHENCK, JONES, WAYLAND, SEAY, HARBER, WISEMAN, HUDSON, MCGINNESS, WOOD and others) or are interested in local history you should plan to attend. Participants will gather at 7:30 p.m. among the MATTHEWs family gravestones at Spring Creek Cemetery. To reach Spring Creek Church, turn east from Route 56 in Calico Rock onto Spring Creek Road (at the First National Bank). Drive three/fourths mile to the bottom of the hill. Turn right onto the dirt/gravel road and continue to the Spring Creek United Methodist Church. Gentry Family: The descendants of Harmon and Kimmie Lee Gentry will meet on June 1st at the fellowship hall of the United Methodist Church in Yellville (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Lunch will be potluck. The Gentry family came to Marion County about 1888 and settled near the Rush community. Since that time they have played an active part in the history of Marion County. In addition to this reunion, the family will also attend Decoration Day at the Pleasant Ridge Cemtery (June 2nd) which will commemorate the 100th anniversary that the Gentry family has attended this event. Dillard 2002 Reunion: Our reunion is firmly set for Thursday through Saturday, June 20 to the 22. A pie auction is set for Thursday evening after the traditional welcome dinner of fried biscuits, homemade jams, fried deer and squirrel. Last reunion, the pie auction raised quite a lot for the reunion fund- so bring your sweet tooth, a pie if you can, and your wallet. Be prepared to enjoy some great singing after the pie auction. Friday evening we will have goodies and finger foods on hand and lots of terrific Dillard Family entertainment. Saturday, everyone can look forward to a fantastic dinner including pork, turkey, fried crappie, homemade goodies and desserts beginning at noon. After the dinner we will have our auction again. Roy Dillard has volunteered to be our auctioneer again this year. We have had lots of interesting items included in years past and this year will be no exception. Come Hang Your Hat On Our Hall Tree: The Daniel Webster and Hannah (Treat) Hall family reunion will be Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the Woodman of the World building in Yellville, AR. The doors will be open at 9:00 a.m. There will be NO potluck this year in consideration of our ladies. Instead we will dismiss for a lunch break and regroup following lunch. Any of the diehard genealogists in the family who would rather stay during the lunch break and exchange information may do so. Tables will be set up for displays and exchanging of information. Our family has a long military history. If a member of your family served our country please bring a photo to the reunion. We will have a display honoring them. COBB - SASSER: ANNOUNCING: Cobb-Sasser Family Reunion: Saturday, June 26, 1999. The Meeting Lodge at Wentz Camp Ponca City, OK. The first reunion was held in 1980 in special honor of Margaret Elizabeth (Sasser) Cobb. All Cobb-Sasser descendants have always been welcome. Once held yearly, now held on "odd" years, beginning 1999. Camping areas nearby with RV hookups. A number of local motels available. For Sunday, June 27, 1999, a group trip is planned, travelling in a convoy of cars and RVs, to drive appx. 100 miles to visit Red Oak Cemetery, in Cleveland Co, OK, where a number of Cobb and Sasser descendants are buried. SMITH-ROBERTS: Dear Smith/Roberts Cousin, You are invited to the 1999 Smith-Roberts reunion. Below is the pertinent information: 1) WHEN: June 4 (8:00 a.m.) - June 6 2) WHERE: RSVP Center, 600 E. Stephenson, Harrison, Arkansas. 3) COST: No charge, but we will pass the hat for donations. The RSVP center is more expensive than the fairgrounds three years ago. The more people you can get to come along, the lower the average cost. 4) PRE-REGISTRATION: It is not mandatory to pre-register. However, we request that you indicate your interest for three reasons: so we can (1) let you know if an unforeseen event causes a change in plans, (2) give you further details on the reunion if necessary, and (3) coordinate the food dishes for the Saturday night dinner. So please return the little form included in this letter if you plan to attend or are considering doing so. 5) MEALS: A Saturday evening pot luck dinner is the main event. For other meals we make our own arrangements, usually going to local restaurants in groups. Coffee and a microwave will be available at the Center. 6) WHAT TO BRING FOR POT LUCK DINNER: Freda Bell of Harrison will coordinate the dinner. Local people should contact her. Out of towners need not prepare a dish; instead they can purchase items from a list of needs that will be available at the time of checking in. 7) ACTIVITIES: Mostly talking; also visiting cemeteries; visiting historical society museum. 8) WHAT ELSE TO BRING: camera, old photos, genealogy papers. I have compiled an attendance list of the past reunions. So if you have photographs from past reunions, this list will help you identify people in your reunion photographs. 9) SPREAD THE WORD: about the reunion to anyone in your family, anyone you see, and anyone you correspond with. Notices cannot be sent to everyone, so we rely on word of mouth. Please do not assume others received an invitation. 10) EMAIL: Our expenses for correspondence could be reduced by using email in the future.
