He was born January 16, 1933 in Walker, AR to Rufus and Alma Claudine SEGO WALDEN. Mr. WALDEN served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Gloria STORY in 1954. The family lived in Yellville, AR where he worked and later retired as a salesman from Mass Merchandisers. Mr. WALDEN moved to Fayetteville to be near his children following the death of his wife. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl HARRIS of Springdale, AR and Karla CARAWAY and husband Steve of Fayetteville; a son, John Kevin WALDEN of Fayetteville; his mother, Alma Claudine WALDEN of Warsaw, MO, two sisters, Virginia NEWTON and husband George of Warsaw, MO, Eula EICKELBERG and husband Vic of St. Charles, MO; and five grandchildren, Kasey HARRIS, Brandon HARRIS, Alexa HARRIS, Davis CARAWAY and Ella CARAWAY. Mr. JOHNSON was born December 23, 1925 at Lead Hill, Arkansas to William McKinley and Maud Ellen ORR JOHNSON. He was married to Joan WARREN. Mr. JOHNSON was a retired nurse's aid. Formerly of Missouri, he had been a resident of Marion County for the past 14 years. He was a member of the Yellville Missionary Baptist Church and a WWII US Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Joan JOHNSON of Yellville, AR; daughter, Carol WALKER of Nevada, MO; brother, Billy Joe JOHNSON; sisters, Mary WILKERSON of Oregon and Cuma JOHNSON of Leston, Idaho; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was 86 years old. Mrs. LONG was born November 1, 1917 at Henry County, Illinois to Harry and Bessie ATWOOD ANDERSON. On April 9, 1938, she married Charles LONG in Maquoketa, Iowa. She was a homemaker. Mrs. LONG was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Yellville where she served as a deacon, a member of the Extension Homemaker's Club (EHC) and the Tuesday Ladies Quilting Club. Formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, she was a resident of Marion County since 1974. Survivors include her daughters, Sharlo CULLISON and husband Marvin of Yellville, AR and Karen BUNCH of Rock Island, IL and five grandchildren, Teresa, Anthony and Melissa BUNCH, Kevin CULLISON of Boone, NC and Mark CULLISON of Horsham, PA. He was born March 10, 1947 at Fanning, Missouri the son of Stanley and Jean LUPARDUS PERDUE. He married Carole SHORT at Bull Shoals on November 4, 1971 and had resided in the Bull Shoals area since moving from Oran, Missouri in 1969. He was a river and lake guide and served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Baptist Church, White River Guides Association, co-founder of North Central Arkansas Trout Unlimited, retired from Bull Shoals Fire Department and an avid hunter. He holds several world and state fishing records and a trophy deer recorded with Pope and Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lynda MCCONNELL. Franklin Howard ROBERTS was born April 26, 1928 at Riverside, Illinois to Orville Washington ROBERTS and Lucy Ellen GILLEY ROBERTS. After graduating high school in Clayton, Missouri, Frank attended Washington University at St. Louis, Missouri. He married Esther Edna PEETZ of Jackson, Missouri on August 6, 1949 at Shreveport, Louisiana. Frank entered the United States Air Force in 1949 and trained as a pilot. He served his country for 24 years, retiring as a Colonel at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois in 1972. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Among the medals Frank received while on active duty are the Bronze Star, the Air Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Distinguished Unit Citation, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his career in the U.S. Air Force, Frank established a real estate appraisal business. He was a member of the Appraisal Institute, the Retired Officers Association, Order of Daedalians, and the Association of Former O.S.I. Special Agents. She slipped peacefully from her earthly home to her new Heavenly home, there to be with her Heavenly Father and her beloved Patrick. Alice and Robert were married on September 15, 1925 in Yellville, Arkansas and moved with their family to Washington in 1945. She was preceded in death her husband, Robert, her brothers, sisters and other family members. Mountaineer Echo Newspaper Week of November 18, 2004 issue: Stan PERSON, 79, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas and formerly of Wisconsin, passed away November 15, 2004 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. A memorial service is planned for next week in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Burial will be private. Stanley Wesley PERSON was born to Sigfred Waltimer PERSON and Mabel Irene DAVIS PERSON on July 29, 1925 at Lisbon, North Dakota. Mr. PERSON was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII having served in Italy flying missions to other parts of Europe. He married Nancy Irene BELLER on February 20, 1959 in Illinois and spent his working years as a heavy equipment operator in construction before retiring in 1986. He fulfilled his dream of traveling for the next 15 years in his motorhome visiting many of the United States. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and especially fishing the lakes and rivers in Arkansas after moving here in 2002 for West Field, Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife, Nancy PERSON of the home; three sons, Michael W. PERSON of Green Bay, WI, Darrell R. PERSON of Iron Ridge, WI and Steven E. (Kristine) PERSON of Rosholt, WI; four daughters, Annette E. (Alfred) GODWIN of Delafield, WI, Tammy A. (Michael) CHEN of Pewaukee, WI, Suzanne M. (John) HENDRICKS of Big Bend, WI and Lynda G. (Robert) VANMINSEL of Fox Lake, WI; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Delbert (Norma) PERSON; a sister, Beverly (Robert) WHITMAN; and a host of nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association. He was born February 6, 1925 in Maumee, Arkansas to the late F. L. and Sarah Maude BUTLER DAVENPORT. He received his education in Yellville, Arkansas at Yellville High School. He also received his BA in 1950 and a Master Degree in 1952 in geography from the University of Arkansas. He would marry the former Alice TACKETT. He served in the US Army. He would retire from Williams International as contracts administrator. The family will receive friends at Beard's Chapel in Fayetteville from 9:00 a.m. Friday until time of service. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Alice DAVENPORT of the home; two daughters, Virginia HARLAN of Fairborn, OH and Janet MOTT of Bella Vista, AR; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was born July 28, 1943 at Flippin, Arkansas the second son of Manuel and the late Vera (PARNELL) JAMES. Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Green Forest. He received his BSE degree from UCA in Conway and extended hours from the University of Arkansas. He retired from public school teaching after 37 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, a sportsman, a retired basketball official, and a cattle and turkey farmer. He had a deep love for his God, his family, his country and his friends. On August 13, 1967 he was united in marriage with Peggy Ann (MARTIN) JAMES who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Lise Renee LILES and her husband, Brian LILES of Texarkana; his son, Robert Lynn JAMES and his wife Tiffany of Springdale; his father and stepmother, Manuel and Bunice JAMES of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Don JAMES of Pangburn, Arkansas; a brother-in-law, Buddy MARTIN of Vilonia; two sisters-in-law, Gwen JONES of Springfield, Missouri, and Betty CAMPBELL of Conway, Arkansas; seven nieces and five nephews; eleven great-nieces and three great-nephew; and a host of friends. She was 96 years old. Mrs. SIZEMORE was born June 1, 1908 at London, Texas to Henry Issac and Nettie Maud PLACKER DAVIS. She married Roy SIZEMORE, who died on November 13, 1994. Mrs. SIZEMORE resided in Marion County with her husband where they were the former publishers of the Mountain Echo and Sizemore Printing. She was a member of the Yellville First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her sons, Nils Josef SWANSON of Gilbert, AZ; daughter, Tommie Lee THOMPSON of Woodson Terrace, Missouri; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
