The Democratic mass meeting of Marion County Ark. Met at the court house in the town of Yellville, Ark on Saturday May 2 1896 in ? to a call of the Democratic county central committee for the county of Marion.

The chairmain A. S. Layton of the county central committee called the House to order ? Dr. B. J. Pierce was elected temporary chairmain and John O'Neil was elected temporary secretary and on motion this organization was made permanent.

On motion a committee of three were appointed by the chairmain on resolutions
To-wit J. C. Floyd, B. M. Estes + R L Cantrell.

Mr. Black, candidate for State Auditor, was call(ed) upon to address the meeting + Dr. Ware + Joseph (Wood or?) were appointed on the committee to notify Mr. Black of the call to Speak.

On Motion the meeting proceeded to the election of members of the Democratic central committee as follows to wit

Proceedings of Democratic Mass meeting held at Yellville Marion county.
June 4th 1898: The democratic county central committee met in Mass and the house was called to order by S. W. Wood and on motion Dr. J. M. (Smeared) {Probably Coker} was nominated and permanently elected chairman ? F. M. B__ah? was elected secretary.

A motion was made by S. W. Woods and called for the chair to appoint delegates to the Judicial and _______ conventions xx.

The committee recommended as delegates to the Judicial convention to be held at Marshall June 8 1898. J. W. Black, J. A.(?) Bose(?), J. M. Coker, L. ? Gilley, John O'Neal and N. J. Bearden.

The ________ were duly elected by the mass meeting.

The committee recommended as delegates to the convention J. M. Coker, W. R. Jones, S. W. Woods, J. ? Floyd and David Fee.

The same men duly elected by the mass meeting as delegates to the state convention to be held at Little rock June 21st(?) 1898

On motion J. M. Coker, W. R. Jones, S. W. Woods, J. C. Floyd and David Fee were also elected as delegates to the congressional convention to be held in Little Rock fortieth (?) congressional district June 1898 on motion the following persons were elected as democratic.
