Hampton Township
Information & Map
Hampton Township was created in 1854. Information as to what township(s) it was created from has not been found. It first appeared on the 1860 census with a population of 306.
Part of Hampton Township was used to create Tomahawk Township between the 1860 and 1870 censuses. Then between the 1870 and 1880 censuses Tomahawk was merged back into Hampton.
Parts of Hampton were given to Liberty Township between the 1890 and 1900 censuses, to Independence Township in 1908 and to Big Springs Township between the 1910 and 1920 censuses
