Buffalo Township

Buffalo Fork was one of Marion County's original townships. Depending on the Census this township was either identified as Buffalo Fork (1840, 1850, 1860 & 1880 censuses) or as Buffalo (1870 census). Beginning with the 1890 Census the township's name is only found as Buffalo.
The township first appeared as Buffalo Fork on the 1840 census with a population of 91.
A part of the township was used to create Big Creek Township between the 1890 and 1900 censuses.
