Bearden Township was created between the 1870 and 1880 censuses. No information has been found as to the township(s) Bearden was created from.
First listed as a township on the 1880 Census with a population of 450 people.
Parts of the township were given to DeSoto Township in 1888, to Crooked Creek between the 1890 and 1900 censuses and to Jefferson Township in 1904.
