Marriage License & Permission Note

James Yocham & Edna Chappelle

Linda, attached is an image of marriage license and attached note that W. R. Chappelle sent to the Marion County Clerk giving permission for issuance of license for his daughter to marry James Allen Yocham. W. M. McClair married the pair on November 12, 1897, in Peel, AR and the bond and license was issued in Yellville on November 11, 1897. The note reads:

Peel, Ark. Nov 10th 1897
Mr Logan Gilley.

Friend Logan: You have my permission to issue marriage license to James Yocham and Edna L. Chappelle

Your Friend
W. R. Chappelle.

At the time I obtained a copy of the bond and license, I did not get the book
number but the page is 89 in Marion County Marriage Records for the year 1897.
