John retired from the working at the Colorado Fuel and Iron Coorporation where he was employeed for 45 yrs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was dedicated to his family. He helped his parents during their later years and enabled his two younger siblings to acquire land and further their education.

Maybelle taught school for 45yrs. in Pueblo, Colorado retiring at the age of 65. She then volunteered at a historical museum and enjoyed playing bridge, fly fishing, and watching baseball games. She was a member of the Unitarian Fellowship.
