Walter (Jeff) COWDREY: (son of:Ambrose W. COWDREY) Entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 3, 1979 Walter (Jeff) COWDREY, 65, of [address deleted] died Sunday in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1914 in Harrison Ark. And lived in Reed, Okla., before moving to Yakima in 1923. He married Catherine Elizabeth MOORE of The Dalles, Ore., Feb. 21, 1941. He worked as a welder in shipyards in California and Bermerton, (WA), during World War II. He was a truck driver for 30 years. Mr COWDREY was a member of Teamsters Union Local 524. Survivors include his wife, Catherine E. COWDREY of Yakima; three sons, John D. COWDREY of LaGrande, Ore.; Donald G. COWDREY of Kirkland, (WA), and David J. COWDREY of Clallam Bay; one brother, John S. COWDREY of Tieton; four sisters, Mrs. Celia REPP and Mrs Clara BARNWELL, both of Selah, Mrs. Virginia KERL of Wiley City, and Mrs. Lucille NAASZ of Spokane; and three grandchildren. Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, AR 16 Aug 1979 James E (Abe) COWAN, 68, of Yellville, a farmer and lifetime resident of Marion County, died Tuesday at the Bull Shoals Community Hospital. The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Main Street Church of Christ in Yellville. Bro John DOOLEN will officiate, and interment will be in the Cowan Cemetery in southeast Marion County. The Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Lester BURNES, Eddie BALDRIDGE, Bobby Joe OTT, Robert PADEN, H M JOHNSON and Gus KITZING. Born Oct 1, 1910, in Marion County, Mr COWAN was the son of the late Amos and Daisy DOSHIER COWAN. He and the former Obeda JONES were married Nov 25, 1933. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, of Yellville; a daughter Rita COWAN of Springdale; a son Russell of Yellville; two sisters, Bernice JEFFERSON and Arlene OTT of Yellville, and three grandchildren. A son, James Earl COWAN, preceded Mr COWAN in death.

The Mountain Echo September 20, 1979 Maude M. HICKS of Sacramento, Calif. died Thursday, August 30 at her home. Mrs. Hicks was a native of Marion County and lived in the Rush area south of Yellville. Mrs. Hicks was born Feb. 4, 1892 in Rush to Harmon and Kimmie GENTRY. She was married June 8, 1929 at Rush to Roscoe A. HICKS. A retired teacher, she obtained her license from Conway Teacher's College. She taught school at Rush Creek and Number 10 near Ware's Chapel, Rush New Town School, Zinc, and a school on the Buffalo River. Mrs. Hicks is survived by fifteen nieces and nephews, among them Ernie GENTRY of Mountain Home; Mrs. Libby DEAN and Mrs. Mabel DUHON of Yellville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the North Sacramento Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 3 and private burial services were held in Visalia, Calif. on Sept. 4.

Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, AR 14 May 1981 Mrs FLETCHER, life resident Malinda Danie FLETCHER, 82, a lifetime resident of Mountain Home, died May 6 at Baxter General Hospital. She was a Methodist. Born Nov 12, 1898, at Rea Valley, she was the daughter of the late Mary HALL JONES and William J JONES. She and Edgar FLETCHER were married Feb 10, 1916, in Mountain Home. Survivors include her husband of Mountain Home; two sons, Jewell FLETCHER of Wichita, Kan., and Eudell FLETCHER of Mountain Home; three daughters, Mrs Jessie COAKE of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs Hester LIPPS of Topeka, Kan., and Mrs Addie Belle COX of Mountain Home; one brother, George JONES of Bentonville; one sister, Lema BEAVERS of Bentonville; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Funeral services were held Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Troy MELTON and Rev Howard PRUITT officiating. Interment took place at Baxter Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Allen WALTON, Joe MISIC, Odus DUGGINS, George JOHNSON, Alton JOHNSON, and Loyd REED. Myron ALMON was honorary pallbearer.

Mrs OTT was born in Marion County on April 3, 1893 to John and Docia BAKER BUNDY. She was a lifetime resident of Marion County. Mrs OTT was a member of the Flippin Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Hettie LINCK, Jeanette DAVIS, both of Flippin, Juanita GRAHAM of Branson, MO, and Nadine HURST of Yellville; two sons, Jewell OTT and Claiborne OTT, both of Flippin; one brother, John Buster BUNDY of Texas; two sisters, Lucy FORD of Castorville [sic], Calif., and Susie HUNTER of Salinas, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Flipin Church of Christ on Jan 22 at 2 p.m. with Luell McCUTCHEON officiating. Burial was in Ott Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kelly OTT, J W OTT, Terry OTT, Doyle LINCK, Larry HURST and Donald DAVIS. Arrangememnt were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Yellville.

Obituary of Floyd B. WILLIAMS in the Yakima Herald 11 April 1982. Floyd B. WILLIAMS, 79, of Route 1, Box 177A, Tieton, died Friday in Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. WILLIAMS was born Sept. 18, 1902, in Rea Valley, Ark., to George and Thenia WILLIAMS. He had worked in oilfields in Arkansas and on main dam projects before moving to Yakima in 1945. He was a self-employed orchardist until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, of Tieton; three sons, Floyd R. WILLIAMS of Redondo Beach, Calif., Donald D. WILLIAMS of Sunnyside and Gary L. WILLIAMS of Bothell; two daughters, Mrs. Gail (Pat) DIXON of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. William (Betty) NEWLAND of Tieton: two brothers, Boyd WILLIAMS of Flippin, Ark., and Jim WILLIAMS of Norfolk, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Hildred (Nola) TANNER of Green Forest, Ark., Mrs. Jewell OTT of Flippin and Mrs. Roy (Myrtle) WOOD of Stratford, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services will be conducted by the Rev. G. David LAMBERTSON of the Tieton Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in West Hills Cemetery.

Mrs BRYANT was born Jan 29, 1908 in Yellville to W B and Ella OTT. She was a housewife and seamstress, and a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy BRYANT in 1972, and her parents. Survivors include two sons, Billy Guy BRYANT of Little Rock, and Bobby Thomas BRYANT of Des Arc; one brother, Sherman B OTT of Yellville; three sisters, Opal MARCHANT of Flippin, Ethel PACE and Joyce KEETER, both of Yellville, one grandson, Billy Bob; and three grandaughters, Bobette, Cristy and Peggy Sue of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. in the Black Oak Church of Christ with Rev Ron HENSON officiating. Graveside services and burial were in the Cowan Cemetery at 3 p.m. with Doyle DAVENPORT officiating. Pallbearers were Lawrence WHITNEY, Russell WHITNEY, O R JACKSON, Hayden DEWITT Sr., Oral ARMSTRONG and John A BAUMGARDNER of Black Oak, and Bill CARVER, Bill LINCK, Don TREAT, Jewel TILLEY, Bruce OTT and Claybourne OTT of Flippin. Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 22 Jul 1982 Lindel Carl PICKEL, 41, of Vicksburg, Mich., died at his home on Monday, June 21 of an apparent heart attack. He was born Feb 3, 1941 in Rush to Clyde and Lou BEARDEN PICKEL. Mr PICKEL served with the U S Navy from 1957 through 19?? and was in the Vietnam theater and other areas during his time of service. He was an electrical engineer. He was employed as a shop supervisor at Hatfield Electric Corporation of Kalamazoo, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; three stepsons, Joseph KOUTNY in the Navy at San Diego, Calif., Daniel KOUTNY in the Army in Germany, and Kenneth KOUTNY of Vicksburg, Mich.; one son, James PICKEL of the home; his parents, Mr and Mrs Clyde PICKEL of Grandview, Mich.; his grandmother, Mrs Della BEARDEN of the Yellville; two brothers, James PICKEL and Terry PICKEL, both of Grandview, Mich. [sic]; one granddaughter, Irene Marie KOUTNEY; and five nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 24 at 1 p.m. in the Rupert-Durham Funeral Home in Vicksburg with Dr Lowell WALSWORTH officiating. Burial was in the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Mich. Pallbearers wer members of The American Legion. Arrangements were under the direction of Rupert-Durham Funeral Home of Vicksburg.

He was born in Advance, Arkansas, December 12, 1893, a son of the late Henry T and Huldy E (BUNDY) GAINES. He was married to Bertha GALLOWAY, August 30, 1921 in Advance. He was a member of the Church of Christ, served in the U S Army during World War I and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Bertha, a resident of the nursing home in Calico Rock; one son, De GAINES of Big Flat; two daughters, Mrs Dorothy WHITAKER, Sheridan and Mrs Dorene STONER of Flippin; one sister, Mrs Norma McFALL, of Mountain Home; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services were Friday, July 2 in the Church of Christ in Big Flat, with Rev Hayden MAHAN officiating. Casketbearers were Leonard MURPHY, Jimmy TILLEY, Bob STEVENS, Dorsey LONG, Carl MIZE, and Connie ROSE. Interment was in Flippin Cemetery under the direction of North Arkansas Funeral Home of Marshall.
