John Francis HAIRSTON was born May 4, 1822 in Montgomery County, Alabama, son of David and Isabella Hairston. He married (1) Elizabeth Lee (2) Rebecca Hickman Holloway, a daughter of John Lee and Elizabeth McDade Hickman, in Bradley County. He enlisted in Company "H" Arkansas Infantry serving from 1862 - 1865. He died August 1, 1892. Burial: Ebenezer Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Alexander 2. Mary 3. Mellie 4. John Buchanan m. Ella Ophelia Morris 5. Jackson F. m. Louisa V. Temple 6. William George Washington HALL was born July 12, 1842 in Panola County Mississippi, the son of William and Lydie Richardson. He married Anna Eliza Hannah, daughter of John and Julia Hannah, January 13, 1891, at Summerville, Arkansas. He joined the army March 1862 and served in Company "B" Arkansas Regiment and was disbanded at Marshal, Texas May 1865. He was a Democrat and a Methodist. No Children. John H. HALL a son of William and Nancy Hall, enlisted in Company "B" Arkansas Cavalry from 1863 - 1865. Wife: Martha A. He died September 15, 1884. John M. HALL enlisted in Company "C" 19th Arkansas Infantry serving from 1862 - 1864. Wife: M. C. He died March 31, 1907. J. P. HALL enlisted in Company "C" Arkansas Infantry serving from 1862 - 1864. Levi HAMAKER was born March 25, 1850. He enlisted in Arkansas serving from 1864 - 1865. Wife: Lou. He died June 12, 1933. Burial: Garrison Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Alexander HAMILTON was born February 25, 1845 in Bradley County, Arkansas, as son of Jack and Lucilla Lacouture Hamilton. He married Ellen Lievira Slough, daughter of Abraham and Mary Barnhart Sough, January 12, 1871 in Calhoun County, Alabama. He enlisted in Company "I" 2nd Arkansas Volunteers serving from 1861 - 1865. Children: 1. George Washington 2. Mary 3. Louisa 4. Emma 5. Wesley 6. 6. Fannie Izelle L. C. HAMMIL was born October 14, 1829. He enlisted in Arkansas Infantry. Wife: Susan M. He died January 11, 1901. Burial: Hickory Springs Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. James Benjamin HAMPTON was born September 14, 1827 in Putnam County, Georgia, the son of Edward Hampton. He married Mary Wright, daughter of Roberson and Sarah Wright, January 9, 1853 at El Dorado, Arkansas. He enlisted in Company "D" 11th Arkansas Regiment October 1861. He served until the war closed in 1865. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died June 10, 1914. Burial: Gravel Ridge Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Nancy m. Pat H. Wilkinson 2. Benjamin 3. George Washington HARCROW was born October 4, 1864 in Talladega County, Alabama, the son of David Harcrow. He married (1) Anna Hollingsworth (2) Martha Parks, daughter of Joseph and Caroline Parks, in 1888. He joined the army May of 1863 and served in Company "C" Arkansas Cavalry and was paroled at Little Rock, Arkansas May 1865. He was Presbyterian and died January 27, 1934. Children: 1. Golda m. Bone Jeffers 2. Dick 3. Martha 4. Hettie m. Van Haven 5. Matthew Charles William HARGIS was born December 30, 1848, son of Washington and Elizabeth Hargis. He enlisted in Captain Reynold's Company from 1864 - 1865. He married Nancy Lewis Barker, daughter of Anderson and Carolina Hickman Lewis, January 7, 1875. He died March 2, 1932. Burial: Greenhill Cem. Drew County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Minnie 2. Mrs. J. H. Mew 3. Henry 4. Mrs. G. M. Chapman 5. Mrs. Mattie Drinkuth 6. Mrs. Jennie Smith 7. J. E. A. Barker Jarmon HARRELSON (possibly HARREL) was born about 1828 in South Carolina, a son of Jesse and Rhoda Lane Harrel. He married Nightly Rowell, daughter of Jonathan and Francis Flowers Rowell, May 17, 1860. He died during the war, possibly at Pine Bluff. O. W. HAYGOOD enlisted in Company "H" 46th Georgia Infantry serving from 1862 - 1865. William HEATHERINGTON was born in South Carolina. He married Hannah Hane Feemster in York County, South Carolina. He enlisted in Company "C" 19th Arkansas Infantry. He died December 7, 1862. J. R. H. HENRY enlisted in Company "C" 19th Arkansas Infantry serving from 1862 - 1865. Wife: Susannah. He died March 20, 1890. Wood Frances HENRY was born January 6, 1847 in Chambers County, Alabama, the son of Hugh L. W. and Charlotte S. Clark Henry. He married Martha J. McManus in Calhoun County, Arkansas February 1890. He joined the army August 1863 and served in Captain M. R. Medow's Scouts. He was paroled in Montgomery, Alabama May 1865. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died in 1920. Burial: McFarland Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Hugh T. 2. William W. 3. Ola W. Green Lee HICKMAN was born January 18, 1823 in Montgomery County, Alabama, son of Thomas William and Elishabe Frissil Hickman. He married Mary Emily Lafferty, daughter of Benjamin and Sara Lafferty around 1852 in Bradley County. He enlisted in Company "C" Hardy's Regiment, Arkansas Infantry. He died February 3, 1907 in Ft. Thomas, Arizona. Children: 1. Martha 2. Rebecca F. 3. Sarah Catherine 4. Thomas 5. Mary Emily 6. Green Lee, Jr. 7. Georgiana 8. Elmira John Franklin HICKMAN was born January 6, 1831 in Montgomery County, Alabama, son of Thomas William and Elishabe Frissil Hickman. He married (1) Mary Ann Reaves, daughter of Joseph and Mary A. Reaves, November 11, 1850 in Bradley County (2) Mary Louise Lindsey, daughter of George E. and Mary Louise Hicks Lindsey, December 26, 1865, in Bradley County. He enlisted in Company "C" Hardy's Regiment, Arkansas Infantry. He died November 14, 1906 in Bronte, Texas. Children: 1. Louanna 2. John Frank 3. Sarah Elizabeth 4. William James 5. Robert E. Lee 6. Mary Belle 7. Callie Narcissus 8. Lillie 9. Edward Henry Virgil William Jasper HICKMAN was born April 14, 1830 in Montgomery County, Alabama, the son of John lee and Elizabeth "Betsy" McDade Hickman. He married Jane Wardlaw, daughter of Douglas and Nancy Wardlaw, 1852 at Warren. He joined the army January 10, 1862 and served in Company "C" 19th Arkansas Regiment. He was disbanded at Marshall, Texas. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died October 1912. Burial: Marsden Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Elmira m. John Louis Hairston 2. Frank M. m. He was paroled at Jackson, Mississippi May 1865. Rank: Private. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died July 17, 1918. Burial: Shady Grove Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Bell Zora m. He joined the army in 1863 and served in Company "A" Major Scott's Cavalry. He surrendered at Shreveport, Louisiana May 1865. He was a Democrat, a Methodist and died April 14, 1928. Fred James Robert HINES enlisted in Company "C" 5th Arkansas Infantry serving from 1861 - 1863. He married Susanna Lee. He died March 20, 1890. Children: 1. Restore James Robert HOLCOMB was born February 20, 1840 in Troup County, Georgia, the son of Amziah Canada and Mary Sewel Holcomb. He married (1) Ellen Dura Clements June 1861 (2) Martha A. Baker, daughter of Morrel and Mary E. Baker, November 17, 1880. He joined the army March 1862 and served in Company "D" Georgia Infantry. He was paroled at Kingston, Georgia May 1865. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died March 8, 1927. Burial: Union Hill Cem. Bradley County, Arkansas. Children: 1. Viola 2. Missouri Ann m. Samuel Clanton 3. Martha m. Keel McGhee 4. Frances m. Grover C. Clanton George Thomas HOOKS was born February 25, 1847 in Pike County, Alabama. He married Phairly Malissa Brouder, daughter of Hardy and Marinda Brouder, in Pike County, Alabama. He joined the army March 1862 and served in Company "D" 9th Alabama Regiment and was paroled at Montgomery, Alabama April 1865. He was a Democrat, a Methodist and died March 8, 1927. Green John Cobb Ridley HOWARD was born in Granville County, North Carolina on March 18, 1831, the son of Thomas and Rachel Gooch Howard. He married Ann Rebecca Gordon 1853 in Granville County, North Carolina. He joined Company "C", NC Whittington's Regiment and served two years. He was a Democrat and died February 11, 1903. John Austin HOWSEN was born August 27, 1827 in Shelby County, Tennessee, the son of Dora Hamilton and Nancy Oliver Howsen. He married Mary Elvira Reynolds, daughter of Andrew and Cynthia Reynolds, June 7, 1865 in Holmes County, Mississippi. He joined the army January 1861 and served in Company "K" 1st Mississippi Regiment. He was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama May 1865. He was a Democrat and died December 11, 1922. Moses Sanders HUGHES was born April 25, 1844 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the son of James E. and Mary Scroggins Hughes. He married Bessie Weeks. He joined the army July 1861 and served in Company "C" 40th Mississippi Regiment and was paroled at Greensborough, North Carolina April 1865. He was a Democrat, a Baptist and died August 13, 1921.
