DANIELS, James Henry

James Henry "Dad" Daniels, age 85 of Warren died November 12, 1999, in the
Drew County Memorial Hospital.  He was born January 15, 1914, son of the late Jack
and Ellen Daniels of Longview, AR.

He was a retired sawmill worker.

Survivors include 3 children; James Elbert (Rose) Daniels, Crossett; Annie Merl (Otis)
Lambert, San Diego, CA; and James (Gloria) Daniels, Warren; 21 grandchildren; 32
great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 son-in-law, John Russell, Warren; and
many nieces, nephews, Cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, and a daughter, Velma Russell.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Peleum AME
Church in Longview.  Rev. Daniel Franklin officiated.  Burial was in Longview Cemetery by
Hammons Funeral Home.


DANIELS, Tommasine

Tommasine Daniels, age 65, of Warren, died Saturday, April 24, 1999.

She was born May 3, 1934 in Warren.

She received her education in Warren, in the Bradley County public school.  A housekeeper
in a hotel, she was a 36-year resident of Las Vegas.

Survivors include her mother, Mary E. Adams, Warren; a sister, Marlene Dockery, Los Angeles,
CA; two brothers, Robert Matthews and Joe Matthews, both of Warren; two daughters, Paulette
Jacobs and Sandra Matthews, both of Las Vegas, NV; a son, Dwight Matthews, Las Vegas, NV.,
an uncle, Bro. Jessie Powell, Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren and many uncles, nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Matthews; and a son, Randy Matthews.


DAVIS, Artis

Artis "Duck" Davis, Sr., age 59, died March 27, 1999, at his home in Wilmar.

He was born December 13, 1939, the son of the late James Davis and Ruthie Butler Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Willie J. Davis; three sons, Artis Davis, Jr. of Wilmar, Fred (Diann)
Davis of Louisiana and Kelvin Davis of Warren; two daughters, Sharon Davis Pitts of Atlanta, GA., 
and Marcella Davis of Wilmar; one sister, Jyce (Gene) Wheaton of Wichita, KS; four step-sons,
Kenneth Remley of Little Rock, Milton (Ramona) Remley of Kansas, Otis (Barbara) Remley
of Wilmar, and Darrell (Gloria) Remley; three stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Remley of Pine Bluff,
Lisa (Richard) Cooper of Wilmar, and Carolyn Swift of Warren; nine grandchildren, fourteen
step-grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, one uncle, Rufus Butler of Detroit, MI; one aunt,
Clara McCullough of Detroit, MI; three nieces, six nephews and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 2, 1999, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt Tabor Missionary Baptist
Church in Wilmar.

Rev. Michael Binns officiated.

Burial was in Wilmar Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.


DAVIS, BeArthur

BeArthur Davis, age 72 of Banks, died May 19, 2002, at the Bradley County Medical Center.

He was born October 31, 1929, the son of the late Gladys Vines and Sinkfield Davis.  He was retired
from Potlatch Corporation and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Chruch.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Davis of Banks; 4 sons, Kenneth Davis and Eric Davis of Banks,
Donald W. Davis and Travis Davis of Kansas City, MO; 7 daughters, Sarah Carter, Jannett Housley, 
Brenda Karaki, Mildred Moore, Virginia Davis and Barbara Davis of Kansas City, MO, and Sandra
Davis of Banks; 3 brothers, Ulysses Davis, Zettie Davis and James Davis, all of Banks, 9 sisters, 
Elizabeth Marshall of Milwaukee, WI, Robbie D. Childs of West Helena, Janie Washington, Mildred Pickett,
Jean Gilbert and Mary Marshall, all of Banks, Essie Hines, Helen Yon and Dorothy Talley, all of Warren;
15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Banks with Rev. Earl
Thomas officiating.  Burial was in Childs Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Willie M. Davis, Claudie Childs, Franky Davis, Ozell Childs, Carlton Wilson 
and Jimmy Wilson.


DAVIS, Dennis

Dennis Lee Davis, age 64, of Banks died Sunday, June 12 (no year given..1993?), at the Bradley County
Memorial Hospital in Warren.

Born August 6, 1929 in Bradley County, he was a former sawmill employee and a member of Pleasant 
Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Hattie R. Williams Davis; 3 sons, Frankie Lee Davis of Banks, Jimmie Lee Davis
of Bryant, and Michael Dennis Davis of Banks; 7 daughters, Lucy Newton of Warren, Annie Marie Golden
of Camden, Sue Dismute of Warren, Nancy McCullough of Paris, TX, Listeen Speed of Hot Springs, Carolyn
Ederington of Warren, and Helen Tenita Russell of Monticello; his father, Sinkfield Davis of Banks, his 
mother, Panzy Belin Davis of Banks and his stepmother, Lula Mae Davis of Banks; 7 brothers, Bobby Davis
of Banks, Willie Davis of Banks, Vernell Davis of Warren, Ulysses Davis of Camden, Zettie Davis of Banks, 
James Davis of Banks and Bea Arthur Davis of Banks; 9 sisters, Ritha Davis and Joyce Davis of Milwaukee;
Janie Washington and Mary Marshall of Banks, Essie Hines of Warren, Helen Yon of Warren, Mildred Pickett
and Mae Jean Gilbert of Banks and Dorothy Tallen of Warren; and 21 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. 
Victor McCullough officiating.

Burial will be in Hall Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home.


DAVIS, DeOtis

DeOtis Davis, age 58, died Monday, February 1, 1999, at Truman Medical Center.

Born February 26, 1940, in Warren, he was a son of Otis and Edna Davis.

He graduated from Bradley County High School in Warren in 1960.  He was a member of 
Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, where he became the minister of music.

He was a member of the gospel music group, The Musiettes.  The group traveled 
extensively and shared the stage with artist Dorothy Love Coats, the Gospel Harmonettes
and Rev. James Cleveland.  Mr. Davis also served as the director of the Greater Holy 
Temple radio choir and as pianist/organist for the church.

He played for various gospel groups around the Kansas City area and was the creator 
and organizer of the annual Mid-Nite Memorial Musical which was held at Great Holy Temple.

Survivors include his parents, Otis and Edna Davis; two sisters, Mable S. Davis and 
Malinda S. Davis; three nieces, two nephews, five great nieces, three great nephews, 
aunts and uncles, cousins and many special firends.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis were held Saturday, February 6, at 12:00 p.m. at Greater 
Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Kansas City, MO.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.


DAVIS, Pearline

Pearline McClendon Davis, age 42, of Warren, died January 19, 2002, at her home.

She was born August 17, 1959, in Warren, the daughter of the late Lelia Mae Jackson and 
James Otis McClendon.

She was a housewife and a member of Church of Christ and Mt. Carmel M.B. Church and 
Under Watch Care.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Lee Davis; one son, Brandon Dismute; 3 sisters, Diane
Tate (Gary), Sherwood, Peggy Jackson, San Pablo, CA, and Norma K Clary, Warren, 3 brothers,
Otis Jackson, Asbury, NJ. James McClendon and Terry McClendon (Donna), North LittleRock;
aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Missionary
Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Hampton, Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery by Hammons Funral Home.


DAVIS, Sinkfield

Sinkfield Davis, age 90, of Banks, died April 24, 1999, in the Bradley County Medical Center.

He was born October 30, 1908, the son of the late Ollie Green-Davis and Wesley Davis.

He was a retired bus driver.

Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Davis; four sons, B. Arthur (Elizabeth) Davis, James 
(Beverly) Davis, Zettie (Annie) Davis and Ulysses Davis, all of Banks; seven daughters, 
Janie Washington, Mildred Pickett (Bobby), Jean Gilbert (Joe), Mary Marshall (Willie), 
all of Banks; Dorothy Talley (John), Essie Hines (William), and Helen Yon (Clarence), 
all of Warren; 68 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, 39 great great granchildren, 4 
nieces, 5 nephews, 3 step nieces, 2 step nephews, two close cousins, Audrey Davis and 
Aaron Hall; a daughter-in-law, Hattie; a son-in-law, Robert Brown, great nieces, great 
nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thrusday, April 29, 1999, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakalone A.M.E. 
Church in Banks.

Rev. Larry Hines officiaed and Rev. Neslon Spencer is the pastor.

Burial was in Hall Cemtetery by Hammons Funeral Home.


EVANS, Ora Burns

Ora Burns Evans, age 98, died November 10, 1999.

She was born to the late Joe Burns and Manuvary Anderson Burns on April 27, 1901, at Warren
(St. Paul Comminity), AR.

She was a member of the Bethel Beacon Club, Willing Worker Club, Stewardess Board and a 
member of the Ada Veasey Missionary Society.

She was married to Hugh Evans who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one niece, Djuana Phae Burns Blagmon; one great niece, Vache Nieri Blagmon,
Lanham, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Cleo Burns, Little Rock; one step-daughter, Augusta Harris,
Detroit, MI; sixteen step-grandchildren, thirty-eight step-great grandchildren, ten step-great great
grandchildren, five step-great great great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 14, at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel AME Church in Warren.
Rev. S. L. Arnold  officiated.

Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery by  Hammons Funeral Home.


FELLOWS, Robert, Sr.

Robert Fellows, Sr., age 63, died May 25, 1999, in Los Angeles, California.

Born December 13, 1935. on Washington, Arkansas, he was a son of Ethel Tanner and the 
late Frank Fellows.

Mr. Fellows joined the First Baptist Church in Washington at an early age and upon completion
of high school, he attended
the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

He left Arkansas, moving to Los Angeles, California, where he united with a baptist church.  
He later became member of Amos Memorial C.M.E.

He was married to the former Barbara Kolen.

Survivors include his mother, Ethel Tanner, and her husband, Jarome Tanner, of Los Angeles, 
California, Willie Joe Fellows of Washington, AR; three daughters, Vicki Fellows of Van Nuys, 
CA, Beverly Fellows of Warren, and Valerie Tate of Van Nuys, CA; a son, Robert Fellows, Jr., 
of Warren; a son-in-law, Timothy Tate of Van Nuys, CA; two brothers, Henry Fellows of Washington,
Arkansas; three sisters, Doris Jones of Los Angeles, CA, Gerogia Harton of Dallas, and Angela
Traylor of Dallas; three grandchildren, Tanika Summerville, LaToya Tate and Roshaun Fellows; 
one great grandchild, Kyshonna Robertson; two uncles, three aunts, many nephews, nieces and 
other relatives and friends, and a special friend, Bro. Oliver Tolbert.

Services were held Saturday, May 29, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at View Park Chapel in Los Angeles, California.

Rev. A. Charles Officiated.

Interment was held in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.

Pallbearers were Keith Fellows, Darren Kolen, Chris Kolen, Timothy Tate, Loary Kimble and Henry 
Stephon Fellows.

Honorary pallbearers were Henry Fellows, Oliver Tolbert and Ronnie Fellows.


FRANKLIN, Michelle

Jacqualine Michelle Franklin, age 30, of Flint, Michigan, Died May 6, 2001.

Born June 26, 1970, in Warren, she was a daughter of David and Jolene (Daniels) Franklin.

Jackie, better known to her family as Michelle, was a member of St. George Beth El Church of God in Christ.  
She attended the Flint Community Schools, graduating from Central 'Class of 1988'.  Even during her illness, 
she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Health Administration from Clark Atlanta University.  She received her
Master's degree from Central Michigan University in December, 2000.

Michelle was employed at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, as Assistant Director of Medical Records 
and was an instructor of Medical Terminology.  She was aslo an Independent Travel Agent with American 
Travel Agency.

After meeting and becoming engaged to Mr. Wesley Patton, she returned to Flint, Michigan.  Upon her return,
she was employed at Chart One as an Operations Manager until she was unable to continue working.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dollie Mae Franklin; her grandfather, James Franklin; one 
brother, David Leonard Franklin, Jr.; and an aunt, Earlie Mae Jones.

Survivors include her parents, David and Jolene Franklin; grandmother, Jeanette Tenner of Warren; two sisters,
Denise (Calvin) Turner of Southfield, MI, and Dana Franklin of Flint, MI, and two brothers, Bryan and Demetris
Franklin, both of Flint, MI; Fianc'e Wesley Patton of Flint, MI; two nieces, Ciara Turner of Southfield, MI, and 
Joslyn Franklin-Burns; nephew, Justin Franklin of Flint, MI, adoped nephew, Gabriel Burns; 5 special aunts, 
Stella Franklin, Yvonne Jones of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Martin of Flint, MI, special aunt Jacqueline (Dea. James) 
Bowie of Grand Blanc, MI, Mary (Randy) Miller of Warren; 5 uncles, Dea. Willie (Miss'y Silesia) Franklin, 
Johnny Franklin of Flint, MI, Timothy Franklin of Warren, David (Brenda) Tenner, Henry (Susie) Tenner of 
Little Rock; a host of cousins and friends. 

Funeral services were Saturday, May 12, 2001, at St. George Beth El Church of God in Christ in Flint, Michigan, 
with Bishop Walter E. Bogan officiating.  Burial was in River Rest Cemetery in Flint.

Pallbearers were Antwain Alexander, Norman Booker, III, Allan Boan, II, Deandre Alexander, Keyatta Jones 
and Edgar Franks.


FREEMAN, Mamer

Mamer Margaret Neal Freeman, age 90, died July 15, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center.

She was born January 10, 1912, in Warren, the daugher of the late Ed and Sally Neal.

She was a retired school teacher and a member of Arkansas Teachers Retirement Association.  At Bethel 
AME Church, she served as senior choir pianist, class leader, member of the Stewardess board, a missionary,
Trustee Helpers club, and adult Sunday School.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Rezelle neal of Detroit, MI; 2 nephews, George (Lillie) Campbell of 
Sacramento, CA, and Earl Reed of Los Angeles, CA; 4 nieces, Sally (Arnett) Davis of Carson, CA, Barbara
(Gary) Lenior of Lynwood, CA, Cheryl (Willie) Perkins of Ridgeland, MS, and Katherine Ford of Indianapolis, 
IN; great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends, and extended family, Patsy Tatum and Charles Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Freeman; 2 brothers, Edward Neal and Roscoe Neal; and 
4 sisters, Beatrice Campbell, Katherine Johnson, Ivaus Bereatha Dixon and Janet Neal.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 20, at Bethel AME Church with Rev. Mary Purifoy officiating.  Eulogy 
was by Rev. George T. Blackman. 

Burial was in Zion Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home.
