I am looking for the family of my Great Aunt or information about them.
She was Sarah Jane DUTY b. Sept-1883 in Wright Co. Missouri to Oliver Perry
DUTY and Sarah Elizabeth DURBIN. She married John SIMPSON b. abt. 1878
Missouri. They were living in Texarkana in the late 1920's early 1930's.
Aunt Sarah died in the 1930's but left at least seven children: Roy, Everett,
Oliver Owen, Lillian, Dovey, Jewell, and Daisy Mae. My Grandmother has

ROBINS, TURNER,
WOOD posted by Ray Turner

I would like to have the death date of Dr. Virgil A. WOOD, born, Nov 3,
1855, and the death date of his wife, Sarah C. "Sallie" (ROBINS) WOOD,
born Nov.3, 1855. All death records available at our library doesn't have
the possible years of their deaths available, as yet. The years of their
deaths were possibly from 1915 to 1940, 1940 being a little on the high
side, making Virgil 91 and Sallie 85. Thank you for any inflormation concerning
the dates, and/or places of death, and burial. All known information on
Virgil and Sallie is as follows: 1.2.2 Virgil A. WOOD was born 12 August
1849 in Cass County, GA. When he was a few months old, his family moved
to Texas for a couple of years and then moved on to Hempstead Co., Arkansas.
On 4 October 1874, Virgil married Sarah C. "Sallie" ROBINS, daughter of
Samuel H. ROBINS and Sarah TURNER. Sallie was born 3 November 1855; she
and Virgil both were members of the Methodist Protestant Church. Virgil
A. WOOD was featured in the Hempstead County chapter of an Arkansas textbook
Virgil was noted as having been a resident of Wallaceburg, Hempstead County
for about 34 years. He was considered to be upright, conscientious, and
"well worthy the confidence and trust reposed in him." His birthplace as
given as Bartow Co., GA, which was previously Cass County. Virgil was raised
on his father's farm in Hempstead County, remaining there until he was
21 years old. He taught for several years, began studying medicine in 1883
at the Louisville Medical College, and in 1884, graduated from the Kentucky
School of Medicine. Immediately after his graduation, he opened his practice
in Nevada County, AR, but remained there only 2 years before returning
to Wallaceburg and building up a lucrative practice. In 1889, he began
merchandising in connection with his practice. Virgil and Sallie had eight
children, two of whom had already died when the textbook was written. They
had one son, Robert H. Wood, and five daughters - Beulah L., Minnie O.,
Edna E., and twins Okla and Homa. 1.2.2.1 Beulah L. WOOD was born in Hempstead
Co., AR circa 1877. 1.2.2.2 Minnie O. WOOD was born in Hempstead Co., AR
in January 1880. 1.2.2.3 Edna E. WOOD 1.2.2.4 Robert H. WOOD 1.2.2.5 Okla
WOOD, twin to Homa. 1.2.2.6 Homa WOOD, twin to Okla.
