Melting Pot Genealogical Society,
organized in 1976, meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, March through June
and September through December, at 12:30 p.m., at the Melting Pot Library.
Membership dues are $25.00 for the calendar year and includes the MPGS annual
publication (add $4.00 if publication is mailed). Monthly meeting programs are
designed to promote interest in research, to foster careful documentation, and
to encourage scholarly writing. The Melting Pot Genealogical Library has
collected and preserved over nine thousand volumes of genealogy related books
and other materials for Garland County and for most of the other counties in
Arkansas as well as other states. The Library reading room is located at 649-B
Ouachita Avenue, Hot Springs, AR (501-624-0229). Their website address is
www.garlandcountymeltingpot.org.
