Blocker - Ellis Cemetery

Travel Directions: Take 270 W. Highway from Hot Springs, AR. Go approximately 8 miles and turn left on Fleetwood Road, go about 1 1/4 mile. Cemetery is on a hill on the right hand sign. A sign is posted. This was the family cemetery of the Blocker and Ellis family located on the John Blocker Farm. This cemetery later became private land and after being denied access to visit there family there, the Ritter family took their case to court. Access is now available and a law was set in Garland County to give right away to any cemetery on private land. The cemetery was deeded out from the private landowner.

In 1998 there were three grave of infants buried here: James E. Ritter Jason E. Ritter twin boys b.d 1-24-1976 sons of Wayne and Margaret Kay Green Ritter. Also another baby boy b.d 7-14-1970. These graves were moved that same year to Tulip, AR. because of the impending court issue. Many other unmarked graves are located here.
