Seeking information on Adison ANTHONY who was living with the Elkanah SULLIVENT on the 1850 census. Sullivent was married to Nancy MASON, widow of Phillip MASON and mother of Esther MASON...the future wife of Adison. SULLIVENTS came from Yalobusha Co., Ms about 1844. Did Adison come with them or just board with they ? I believe SULLIVENTS were Primitive Baptists as Esther Mason ANTHONY eventually gave the land for the cemetery at Bethel (Bearden) . It is possible that Adison was a Quaker. He indicated birth in Va about 1829. He died in 1879. He served as constable of Caswell Township in 1856 & 1868. Adison's only daughter Martha married into the JORDAN family. No other information is known on this man ! Help! I believe Adison & Esther were married in Calhoun Co. about 1851 as the first child was born in Dec. 1852. He was named John Franklin ANTHONY...possibly after John FRANKLIN a close neighbor.
