Louis Intres, history professor at Arkansas State University, will present the June 27 program about the sinking of the Sultana to the White County Historical Society. The Sultana was a Mississippi River steamboat that exploded and sank on April 27, 1865 -- the greatest maritime disaster in American history. The meeting will be conducted in the dining room of Harding Place in Searcy. It begins at 7 and is open to the public. So bring a friend and join us!
