STUBBS, 75, or Portland, Oregon, former Yellville resident was born January 1, 1916, the daughter of Loyd & Edith THOMPSON. She died Dec. 13th in Portland, Oregon. She was a member of Marion County Civil Defense and Marion County Communication Club and also a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home Mon., Dec. 16 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Lee Bowers officiating. She is survived by two daughters Carol BROWN of Fremont, Mo., Catherine ALLEY of Portland, Oregon, two sons Don HOBBS of Dallas, Tx., Tommy HOBBS, of Dallas Tx., seven sisters, Carolyn MARTIN and Eva BLANKENSHIP both of Modesta, Ca., Mary REEVES of Cares, Ca., Lena MARTIN of Neb. City, Meb., Marilyn BEEZLEY of Iowa, Velma OWEN of Iowa, Earline CAREY of Liberty, Nebr., three brothers, Bob MARTIN of Fresno, Ca., Leonard MARTIN of Bruno, Ar., Jim MARTIN of Las Vegas, Nev. The Mountain Echo, April 30, 1992 Issue: Rigg Bryce SCOTT, 40, Yellville. Rigg Bryce SCOTT, age 40, of Yellville, died April 22, 1992 at Springdale Memorial Hospital. Mr. SCOTT was born October 23, 1951 at Hutchinson, Kansas to Jack and Bonnie Jean (MCCOY) SCOTT. He married Judith BEAMAN in 1981 and was a carpenter. He had lived in Marion county 1 ½ years, previously he lived in Oregon. Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Judi SCOTT, one step daughter, Kim SEARCY, one son Jamaal Matthew Wakefield SCOTT and one step-son, Rick SEARCY all of Hood River, Oregon. His mother Bonnie Jean CROW and one sister Tami WAGNER, both of Wichita, Kansas, and one brother Dennis OTT of Yellville, Arkansas. Graveside services were held at Pleasant Ridge cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom PILGRIM, Glen ROWE, Mike RADISCH and Dennis OTT. Burns Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

GRANDSTAFF, 84, or Yellville died Sunday (May 10, 1992) at the University of Arkansas Medical Center at Little Rock. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Duffy officiating. Visitation was Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, and burial will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville. Mr. GRANDSTAFF was born Dec. 23, 197, at Roger, Mo., and was a self-employed carpenter and woodcarver. A 19-year resident of Marion County, he was formerly of Concord. He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn DOSS of Houston, Texas, and Lorrie ADAMSON of Fairbanks, Alaska, a son, Harry GRANDSTAFF of Plano, Texas; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen, and both parents, Daniel and Lucy SAILSBURY GRANDSTAFF.

Mr. KYLES was born in Bruno, on January 14, 1910 to Pink M. and Elmeda (BOGLE) KYLES. He married Wilma MATLOCK on August 16, 1933. He attended and graduated Balls Auto College in 1932, and was a self employed auto mechanic until his retirement. He was a member of the Freck Church of Christ. Survivors include, his wife, Wilma KYLES of Bruno, one son Kent KYLES of Bruno, three sisters, Mrs. Eva CHEEK, of Mabton, Washington, Mrs. Ortha ELLIS of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Zelpha GASTINEU of Anahiem, California, and three grandchildren. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home Chapel on April 17, 1992 with Bro. Doyle Davenport officiating. Burial was a Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby KEETER, Dwight SHIPMAN, Hugh BRIGHTWELL, Ed LYNCH, Calvin MONTGOMERY and Blaine MCGAUGHEY. Arrangements were made by Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.

Patsy Fern SETZER, of Linclon California passed away at the age of 55, on June 27, 1992, at the Alburn Faith Hospital, in Alburn, California. She was the daughter of Ancel GOODALL and the late Pearl VICKERS GOODALL and stepdaughter of Kelsie GOODALL. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edgar SETZER. Survivors include two sons, Harvey Lynn of Lincoln, California, and James Charles of Springdale, Arkansas, and four daughters, Deanna Lee EMLET of Springdale, Barbara Jean STRACK, of Yellville, Nancy Jane DYE of Rock Creek, Arkansas, and Teresa Belle HENRY of Citrus Heights, California; four brothers, Clarence VICKERS, of Rush, Arkansas, James GOODALL of Fairfield, California, Bill GOODALL of Ophir, California, and Roger GOODALL of Payson, Arizona; one sister, Letha MEADOR of Auborn, California, and fourteen grandchildren. Graveside services were held July 3 at Pleasant Ridge cemetery at Ralph with Rev. Jerry Cowan officiating.

Mrs. YOUNG was born September 2, 1924 in Yellville to Harve and Lydia (SUMMERS) DOSHIER. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Faulkner County for 5 years. Her prior residence was Afton, Missouri. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra ANGLIN of Eureka, Missouri, and Patsy DILLARD, of Wooster, Arkansas, five brothers, Harold DOSHIER and Altus Shorty DOSHIER, both of Yellville, Bill DOSHIER of Wichita, Kansas, Charles DOSHIER of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Clyde DOSHIER of Wichita, Kansas, and two grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville by the Rev. Stan Adams. Arrangements were made by Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.

Mrs. MELTON was born in Canada to Henry Ralph and Christine (SHARTBURG) AUNE. Survivors include, two sons, Kenneth MELTON of Taylor, Michigan, and Dan MELTON of Mountain Home, Arkansas, five sisters, Fern GREER, Etta BROWN, Violet MARK, Mickie LEE, and Elizabeth BROWN all from Michigan, three brothers, Neil AUNE, James AUNE both of Michigan, and Al AUNE, of Providence, Kentucky, and four grandchildren. There was a memorial service at the Living Word Church, in Mountain Home with the Rev. Vic Porter officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville.

He is also survived by 10 sisters, Mae HAMLET of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mae MILLS of Little Rock, Katherine OLER of Arizona, Donnie MCENTIRE, Rosemary OTT, Martha Lee OTT, LaRue OTT, Eardie MCENTIRE and Alice DOWNAM, all of Yellville, and Bonnie SMITH of Wichita, Kan. Mr. STUBBS was born, October 24, 1915 to Luther M. and Addie (MELTON) STUBBS in Yellville. He was a retired forklift operator for Hayward-Thompson Chemical Company. Survivors include: three brothers, Connie STUBBS, Fred STUBBS of Springfield, and Ned STUBBS of Yellville; two nephews, Ronnie STUBBS of Eldon, Missouri, and Jerry STUBBS of Monett, Missouri; and one niece, Caroline ERWIN of Iowa. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Miller officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland. Mrs. HORNER is predeceased by one son, Robert E. HOWELL; and three husbands; Henry E. HOWELL (1941), Roy SMITH (1968) and George H. HORNER, formerly of Yellville (1981). She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Yellville. Survivors include: one daughter, Margaret Alice SWARTZ in Sharpsburg, Maryland; one sister Effy EARLY of Roanoke, Virginia; five grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Services were held at Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport, Maryland with Rev. John Silassy officiating. Burial was at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg. [There is a double tombstone in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery for Roy SMITH, who died September 23, 1968, and Margaret E. SMITH. As this obituary shows, Margaret E. HILTON HOWELL SMITH HORNER died March 22, 1993, in Hagarstown, Maryland, and was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland. As a result, the grave space marked for Margaret E. SMITH will never be used.]

Mr. GODAT was born March 2, 1929 to Harry and Rhoda (PINKSTON) GODAT in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a retired employee of Ranger Boat Company. He married Myrtle STUBBLEFIELD on October 23, 1948. He had lived in Marion County for 19 years, and his prior residence was in Oregon. He was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include: Myrtle of Yellville; five sons, Francis Lee GODAT, Jr., of Summit, Kenneth Allen GODAT of Yellville, Gary Ray GODAT of Yellville, Arkansas, Randy Eugene GODAT of Flippin and John Dean GOADAT of Centralia, Illinois; five brothers, Willard GODAT of Fenton, Missouri, Richard GODAT of Flatriver, Missouri, Gerald GODAT of Yellville, and Melvin GODAT of Erie, Illinois; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Cypert presiding. Burial was a Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. She was a member of the Yellville First Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Marion County. Survivors include: her husband, Louis of Yellville, two daughters, Treccia Renia JONES and Judy Reanell BIRRER of Yellville; one son Max Wayne JONES of Yellville; her mother Opal BELL of Yellville; one sister Ethelyn CALLAHAN of yellville; and four grandchildren, Bobby BIRRER, Brandy BIRRER, Belinda BIRRER and Tiffany JONES of Yellville. She was predeceassed by her sister Treccia and her father. Services were held at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Cypert presiding. Burial was a Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville. Pallbearers were Shawn BEAVERS, Larry PHILLIPS, Lonnie CARSON, Dale STRUCKLE, Hollis HALL, Freddy WELCH. Honorary Pallbearers were L. G. WAGONER and Larry BEARDEN. Mr. PRICE was born December 10, 1912 in Garner, Arkansas to Thomas Edgar and Katherine Isabell (PERRY) PRICE. On February 20, 1937 he married Mary Lucille HIGGINSON. He was retired from the Navy and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. Mr. PRICE had been a resident of Marion County 24 years. His prior residence was Nashville, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife, Mary PRICE of Yellville; two daughters, Marion ROBISON of Yellville, and Carolyn RAGAN of Penfield, New York; one son Joe PRICE of Venezuela; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Cypert officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Don HARVEY, Tom HARVEY, Dugan ROBINSON, David WICKER and J. Mr. GILLEY was born October 28, 1898 in Cowan Barnes, Arkansas to James Caleb and Zipporah (KEETER) GILLEY. He was married to the former Ethel Pearl BOGLE and was a retired self employed saw miller. Mr. GILLEY was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and a life long resident of Marion County. Survivors include, two daughters, Shirley BAKER of Seattle, Washington, and Floy STEPHENSON of Harrison, three sons, Doy GILLEY, Bill GILLEY, and Coy GILLEY all of Yellville, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Services were held at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Burks officiating. Burial was a Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Mr. BOWERS was born November 9, 1916 to William and Mary (NANNY) BOWERS in Parsons, Kansas. He married Verna VAUGHN BOWERS on January 6, 1986, in Yellville. He was a Baptist minister and retired in 1980. He pastored the New Hope Baptist Church in Ralph, Arkansas for many years. He had lived in Monett the past seven years, moving there from Yellville. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include, his wife, Verna of the home, one son, Lee BOWERS, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona, one daughter, Janie ZBORALSKI of Centralia, Illinois, one step son Loyd MULLINS of Monett, Missouri, three step daughters, Virginia BOOTH of Pierce City, Missouri, Valerie DACY of Monett, Missouri and Rhonda PLUMMER, of Fidelity, Missouri, thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Services were held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Ralph, Arkansas, with Rev. Bill Griffin officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville. She was a school teacher for the Yellville-Summit Elementary School until her retirement in 1976 after 35 years of teaching. She graduated from the Arkansas State Teachers College with a bachelor of science degree in education and was a member of the Victory Independent Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Alfred HALL of Yellville; two sons, Gary and Hollis HALL both of Yellville; a sister Rosemary JONES of Yellville; a brother Fred BEARDEN of Flippin; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by both parents, Walter and Della OTT BEARDEN, a sister, Lou PICKLE and a grandchild. Pallbearers will be H. C. Honorary pallbearer will be Bo LE BLANC. Mr. LAKE was born Feb. 5, 1953, at Plaquemine, La. and was a retired river boat captain for the Chotin Transport Co. of Baton Rouge, La. He was a 16-year Marion County resident, formerly of Tullos, La. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Bayou Plaquemine Baptist Church in Plaquemine, La. Survivors include his wife, Mae LAKE of Yellville; three stepdaughters, Mary Beth DAVIS and Mary Francis JENKINS both of Yellville and Tina Marie KIBADEAUX of Plaqumine, La.; a son, Clifton James LAKE of Plaquemine, La.; three sisters, Mary Ann MCDOUGEL of Winesboro, La., Joyce WEATHERFORD and Sue HALL both of Plaquemine, La.; four brothers, James W. LAKE Jr., Darvey Lee LAKE, David W. LAKE and Capt. Gene Thomas LAKE all of Plaquemine, La.; and eight grandchildren. Both parents, James W. Sr. and Betta AUGHEY LAKE, preceded him in death.

Mrs. COWAN was born on March 15, 1916, in Yellville and was a lifetime Marion County resident. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Patsy ROGERS of Harrison and Retha May RORIE of Independence, Kan.; a sister Bertha Faye RORIE of Flippin; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Both parents, Bill and Millie PILGRIM FISK, preceded her in death.

Survivors include his wife, May of Yellville; two daughter, Alice and Gloria HOOVLER; two sons, Charles and Henry HOOVLER; a sister, Jeanelle CROCKIL; and a brother, Willard HOOVLER. Mr. HOOVLER was a retired carpenter. He was born June 20, 1908, in Pennsylvania, son of John Jacob and Nettie M. HAZEN HOOVLER. Arrangements are by Burns Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville with Dennis FISK, Ronnie FISK, Doty RORIE, Curtis RORIE, Lee HUMPHREY and Otis HUMPHREY serving as pallbearers. Mrs. FISK was born on April 12, 1935, and was a retired bookkeeper for Twin City Oil Co. She was a 35-year Pulaski County resident, formerly of Yellville. Survivors include two sons, Terry Lynn FISK of North Carollina, and Darrell Wayne FISK of North Little Rock; a sister, Pauline BARGAR of Jacksonville; two brothers, Junior HUMPHREY of California, and Troy HUMPHREY of Burns, Ore.; and five grandchildren. Both parents, Napoleon and Eva ROBINETTE HUMPHREY, and her husband, Brown FISK, preceded her in death.

Mr. CALLAHAN was born at Yellville on June 4, 1924, and was a retired cattle rancher. He was a resident of Lake Wells, Fla. since 1975, formerly of Locust Grove, Okla. Besides cattle ranching, he was a nursery man and served in the United States Army during World War II. He also enjoyed bird and fox hunting. Survivors include a son, Randall C. CALLAHAN of St. Petersburg, Fla. Both parents, Wallace and Amanda MATLOCK CALLAHAN, preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be Gerald SMITH, Larry CALLAHAN, Randall CALLAHAN, Tank REA and Dale SMITH and Brenton SMITH.
