281:  Bratton Brashears Brashers
I am searching for the parents of Martha E. Bratton. I know she lived in Greene Co. I believe she was born in Tennessee in 1841. She married Phillip Nelson Brashears. She died in 1862. Her son, Robert Edward Brashears married my great great grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Long, both born in Greene Co. In searching your site I have found an Edward Henry Bratton born in 1809 in Kentucky. He is mentioned in the "Fathers of the Ridge" . One of his children is listed as "Elizabeth" born in 1842.   So, I am not sure this is the same Elizabeth as my Martha.
I would appreciate you posting this and any other help you can offer me. I will continue to search your lovely site.
Thank-you ; Ken Whiston

Thank you, Debbie (Morrow) Stevens

285: My name is Sue Frawley maiden name Hancock my fathers side Hancock's his Dad and Davis his Mom--searching for information on Aaron Davis born 1824 Indian territory (and brother Jefferson born 1821 mother, only known as widow Jane Davis no maiden no first name for her husband and Aaron and Jefferson's dad. Aaron married Nancy Plumlee they had 3 girls Nancy died in 1850 and Aaron married my great grandmother Martha Ann Davis no maiden name for my great grandmother either! My family has oral history that we are born of Cherokee lineage. Martha Ann came to Aaron with 8yr old Minerva J. Hastings or Huston we also have on oral history of an old deceased Uncle, he was 94 in 1965 that we are related to Sam Huston. The Tabitha Huston married also married Gentry she was Cherokee mix she may be Martha Ann's mother as no one can show proof of children born to Tabitha Huston but it was very political then, she had children with all other husbands and was with Huston for 3 years, so--The family settled in Mountain, then Carroll County then Boone County, Aaron and Martha Davis with their children I can trace from 1840-1880 then lose them again and nothing for Jane before that! The 1840 Carroll County Ark territory shows widow Jane with 2 sons right ages, so that is our Jane but nothing earlier.

I am also researching the Daniel and Joseph Hasten timeline, as well as Martha Ann, she may well be a Denny from White County or Van Buren County Tenn. just across the way from Carroll Co. Ark where Aaron and Martha Ann married and lived.  Thanks, Any help would be appreciated

Sue E. Frawley
