Death Notice

Jimmy D. McCarty

Jimmy D. McCarty, 60, of Paragould died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

 

Naomi Ruth Hargrove

 

Naomi Ruth Hargrove, 68, of Paragould died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at her residence.

A homemaker and member of Seed of Faith Church, she was born March 9, 1933, in Marion, IL.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dena Myer of Paragould, one daughter, Roberta Wood of Paragould, three brothers Laverne McCaan of Marion, IL., Randal McCaan of San Diego, CA., and Donald McCaan of Chicago, IL. Four grandchildren, Benjamin Myer and Joseph Myer, both of Paragould. John Sullivan of Wheaton, IL., and Rachel Wood of Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Heze and Callie McCaan, and one sister, Margaret Ann McCaan McClain.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Truman Wycoff officiating. Burial will be at Brown's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

 

 

Jimmy Dale Bibb Sr.

Jimmy Dale Bibb Sr, 64, of Pocahontas, died February 8, 2002 at Randolph County Medical Center.

Born May 30, 1937 in Light, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin L. and Inez Fears Bibb. His wife, Glenda Ruth Riggs Bibb also preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Dale Bibb Jr. of Pocahontas, Danny Edwin Bibb of Little Rock, and Dr. John Glen Bibb of Paragould; three brothers, Glenn, Bill and Paul Bibb all of Pocahontas and one sister, Shirley Blankenship of Walnut Ridge.

Funeral services were held Monday at the McNabb Funeral Home chapel with William Richmond officiating.

Burial was at Sharum Cemetery with McNabb Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Phillip Arnold, Kenneth Bennett, Gary Bibb, Albert Blackwell, John Koons and J.R. Toombs.
 

 

Jack Smith

 

Jack Smith, 92, of Paragould died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born in the Finch community, he was a retired Greene County employee and a member of Finch Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Edward Smith of the Finch community; four daughters, Lola Clement of Paragould, Mary Sailor and Velta McNatt, both of Jonesboro, and Sylvia Hampton of Taylor, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Flora Alice Smith, one daughter, three sons, six brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Finch Baptist Church with Clyde Morris officiating. Burial will be in Finch Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Smith, Ronnie Smith, Ted McNatt, Danny Hileman, Randy Hileman, Marvin Hileman, Fred Hampton, James Hampton and Marvin Smith.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at Finch Baptist Church.

Linda Ruth Irwin Dearin

Linda Ruth Irwin Dearin, 41, of Dewitt, formerly of Paragould died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville.

 

Raymond Floyd Hale


Raymond Floyd Hale, 86, of Marmaduke, passed away February 19, 2002, at Arkansas Methodist Health Center, Paragould. He was born June 25, 1915, in Clay County to the late Charlie B. Hale and Bibhie Hale. He was a general contractor, a member of Ramer's Chapel Methodist Church and a lifelong member of the community.
He was married to Dealie Wyatt Hale, who preceded him in death March 25, 1997. Two brothers, Barney Hale and Herbert Hale, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Sharon Hale of Marmaduke; one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Wayne Gould of Marmaduke; two sisters, Ilo Raney of Rector and Audra Grathler of Ill.; three grandchildren, Sherrie Riddle, Angie Batchelor and Jessica Hale; three great-grandchildren, Alex Gould, Jackson Batchelor and Taylor Boyd.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 21st, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rev. Wayne Gould officiating. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery west of Rector with Irby Funeral Home of Rector in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bill Thomas, Buddy Smith, Donald Gibbs, Jim Martin, Wendell Kirkland and Earl Charles Wyatt.
