J. H. Creed

J. H. Creed age 89 of Rison, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born March 3, 1916 in Barkata, Arkansas a son of the late John Hubert Creed and Stella Bartlett Creed. Mr. Creed graduated from Rison High School, where he played football for the Rison Wildcats. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Mr. Creed was the Rison Postmaster for approximately twenty years before his retirement. He was a member of Rison United Methodist Church. Mr. Creed was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Culpepper Creed who died November 5, 1997, ten brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Ginger and Randy Crowder of Hughes, Martha and Richard Gardial of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Jamie Spann, Paul and Joe Gardial, John Crowder, Pam Montgomery; six great grandchildren, Kyle and Brendan Jones, Ethan Gardial, Michael Crowder, Kelly Montgomery, Nicole Crowder; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Rison United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Johnson and Brother Wade Totty officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood cemetery at Rison. Visitation will be Monday, December 19, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers will be Smitty Dedman, Paul Scarbrough, Jim Hopson, Jim Ed attwood, Rufus T. Buie, Red Pierce. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison. (870) 325-6216.
