J. E. Shelby

J. E. Shelby, 67 of Monroe, Louisiana, died Tuesday at his home his home. Born June 28, 1924, in Rison, Arkansas, he was the son of Austin Shelby and Inez Holderfield Shelby. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church of Monroe, and a retired ice cream sales manager with Borden, Inc. of Monroe.

Surivors include his wife Rachel Rushing Shelby, of Monroe, a son Ronnie Shelby, of Monroe, a daughter, Sandra Shelby Cloud of Fort Smith, four sisters, Opal Shelby Spakes and Frances (Frankie) Shelby Rushing McCoullough of Pine Bluff, Merlene Shelby Schlafom of Little Rock, and Barabar Shelby Atwood of Rison and seven grandson.

Funeral services are schedule for 10 AM Thursday at Rowland Road Bapitst Church at Monroe, with Bro. Adrian Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Prosperity Cemetery at Herbine (Cleveland County) Arkansas at 3 PM, Thursday by Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
