Betty (Brown) Thomasson
Betty Brown Thomasson, 72, of Pine Bluff, died FEB 12, 2004 at Inova Fairfax Hospital at Falls Church, VA. She was born March 23, 1931, in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Joe Abner Brown and Lillian Pate Brown.
She was reared and educated in Cleveland County and graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1949. She also attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigations at Washington, D.C., for eight years in the Records and Communications Division. She received a superior accomplishment award presented by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. She later worked as a substitute teacher in the Pine Bluff School District. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Wedding Ring Sunday School Class, the Chancel Choir, the church history committee and the Untied Methodist Women.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Teague and Marie Gibson. Survivors include husband, W.J. Thomasson, whom she married Aug. 8, 1959, at Pansy (Cleveland County); one son, Greg Thomasson of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Paula Thomasson Scott of Warrenton, VA; one sister, Mary Jo Powell of Warren; and one grandchild. Burial in Pansy Cemetery in Cleveland County.
