JAMES ATLAS O'NEAL At a singing near Warren on the night of December 10, at the residence of one J. A. O'Neal, a young man by the name of Joe Temples, somewhat under the influence of liquor, became offended at something and asked Mr. O'Neal to come out to the gate, as he wished to talk to him. When Mr. O'Neal reached the gate where young Temple was, he struck him over the head with a billet of wood, knocking him senseless, from which he died last night. Mr. O'Neal was an honest hardworking farmer and a good quiet citizen and an uncle of Joe Temples, who is a young man of desperate character who is seldom free of some row.
