Joseph and Sarah (Bryant) Moseley Parnell Children

"I saw this picture among my mother's photos for the first time two years ago. I scanned it to have a digital record, then put it back in storage, because I didn't know who the people are. Since then I've seen a couple of pictures of Della Parnell, my mother's mother, and when I came across the scan a few days ago, Della jumped out at me. Della is standing in the light-color dress.

The attachment is a small version of the picture for the Bradley website. The original is 8x10. You can see the evolution of the restoration on my website .

Based on census records for 1880 and 1900, and the Joseph Marion Parnell and Sarah J (Bryant) Moseley family group sheet in the 1980 Bradley County Historical Society Views, I identify the individuals as, standing, left to right, James (24), Della (20), Mattie (26), J.M. (18); seated, Orra (21), Ollie (16), Mary (30), Lillie (7), and William (8). Ages are assuming the picture was taken about 1898, judging from Lillie, born 1891, looking to be about 7.

Given the family unit identified above, these appear to be the Parnell siblings. However, Orra, Ollie, and Mary don't look like they are 21, 16, and 30. It's possible this is a group of cousins, but logic says the portrait would be of siblings, and that Orra, Ollie, and Mary actually looked younger than their years." ~~Ray"
