Milton Joshua Childers

Milton Joshua Childers was born to Andrew and Jane Childers on 26 December 1843 in Mississippi, and died 9 January 1924 in Smithfield, Johnston County, North Carolina. He married Jane Anne Sellers 28 April 1865 in Johnston County, North Carolina. They raised a family of 10 children.

Pvt. Joshua M. Childers, 2nd Arkansas Infantry Regiment, Company I, CSA. Enlisted at Warren by Capt. McKenney out of Bradley County, Arkansas.

M.J. was wounded at the battle of Chickamauga 19 Sep 1863 and later fought in the battle in Bentonville, NC (March, 1865).
