Henry Hirsch Submitted by Deborah Musgrove Fort Smith New Era Sept 3, 1864 Henry Hirsch of Company H, 2nd Kansas Cavalry, was killed in an attack on pickett post just three miles south of Fort Smith, on September 1, 1864. Hirsch was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Smith.
