Mrs. Helen Brown
Mrs. Helen Brown, 78 years old, died at 11:40 a. m., Thursday at her home at Enterprise, near Bonanza. Mrs. Brown was a member of a widely known Sebastian county family.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p. m., Friday at White Bluff cemetery. The body will taken to the home from Fentress mortuary at 9:30 a. m., Friday. The funeral cortege will leave the home at 2:30 p. m. Dr. Elbert Hefner, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church of Fort Smith, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Ed and Earl Farr, Fred Shiflett and Brook Stephens, all of White Bluff community; and Henry Chastain and John Thompson, both of Bonanza.
She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth McMurtrey, pioneer Sebastian county residents, and was born on the homestead where she died. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Mrs. Brown was the widow of the late Thomas A. Brown. She is survived by three sons, Will Brown, Enterprise, George Brown, Braden, Okla.; and John Brown, Bixby, Okla.; one brother, R. B. McMurtrey, Enterprise; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
