Funeral services for Thomas Alexander Babb, 74 years old, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.S. Hicks, 2008 No. "I" street, about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, will be conducted from the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Frank P. Anderson, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Bural will be in Forest Park cemetery. Mr. Babb, who had been a resident in Fort Smith for the last 33 years, had been in ill health since January. He had made his home with his daughter since his wife's death about six years ago. He formerly operated a furniture store here until a few years ago, when he was employed by the Fort Smith Retail ice company. He worked for the ice company until a few months ago. He was a member of the First Christian church. In addition to his daughter, Mrs. Hicks, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Anna Hudgens of Kansas City, Mo., and two sons, John Babb, also of Kansas City, and Dennis Babb of Joplin, Mo. The body will be taken from the Putman Funeral home to the residence at 10 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Hudgens and John and Dennis Babb will be in Fort Smith for the funeral service. |
