Death of Mrs. Lulu McAuley, one of the old residents of the city,
died at her home in the Fishback addition this morning at 3 o'clock
while sitting in a chair. The deceased was troubled with heart affection
and dropsy so that her death was not altogether unexpected. She was the
widow of J. J. McAuley, at one time in partnership in Charley Boyd and,
during his life, he was a representative citizen. The deceased leaves a
number of children. No arrangements have as yet been made for the funeral,
as the family is waiting the arrival of relatives from Tennessee, in which
state the deceased was born and, from which she moved to Fort Smith when
quite young. She was 40 years of age.
