March 30, 1946 he married Gladys Ray Maness, both being at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. at that time. James enlisted in the US Army October 17, 1942 at Little Rock, Pulaski Co., Ar. He served until March 15, 1946. James passed away August 3, 1885 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in the Lavaca City Cemetery at Lavaca, Arkansas.
