Ben Wofford, Jr. was born July 29, 1935 at Sallisaw, Sequoyah Co., Oklahoma to Ben Sr. & Cordia Lee Sallee Wofford. June 10, 1946 he married Sybil Pauline Shilatt in Senbastian Co., Ar.

April 18, 1946 Ben registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Arkansas. A note His draft card says he had already served in the US Navy, discharged April 15, 1946.

Ben Wofford, Jr passed away June 29, 2009 with his burial being in the Fort Smith National Cemetery there.

Ben Wofford Jr. was born to Ben Wofford Sr. and Cordia Lee Sallee Wofford on July 29, 1925, and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 29, 2009.

Ben was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was faithful to God, his family and his country, where he served in the Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Sybil; two daughters, Julie Inman and husband, Don, and Bennie Dunn and husband, Darrell; three grandchildren, Aaron Inman and wife, Juli, Phillip Inman and wife, Celeste, and Seantelle Marrazzo and husband, Thomas; and five great-grandchildren, Tristan "Paige" Inman, Alehandra Aaron Inman, Victoria Pauline Marrazzo, Carla Jayne Marrazzo and Ella McKenna Inman.

Ben was a longtime Baptist and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He enjoyed camping with the Golden Eagles Camper Club, fishing and gardening.

He worked for Colonial Bread Company, Coca-Cola Company and retired from Life and Casualty Insurance Company.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Pocola with burial at 10 a.m. Friday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
