Tenn. The marriage was in Franklin Co., Arkansas.
Carl registered for the military in Sneedville, Hancock Co., Tennessee. His draft card has
no date on it but does say "Discharged 8/26/45".

Carl R. Williams, Sr. resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, December 19, 2008, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was born February 26, 1923 in Treadway, Tennessee to the late Hence Williams and Ida "Wolf" Williams. He was 85 years old.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Baptist.
His body was cremated and his cremains will be buried at the Williams family cemetery in Treadway, Tennessee at a later date.
Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Roy Lovell officiaing, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Williams, of the home; three daughters, Teddie Hamilton of Fort Smith, Caron Park of Cedarville, and Carrie Colley of Fort Smith; two sons, Carl Williams, Jr. of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Lee Williams of Lavaca; two sisters, June Hamm and Florence Helton, both of Treadway, Tennessee; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
