Photos shared by Vickie Graves Jones Ralph Warren White was born July 21, 1916 in Ault, Weld Co. Colorado to Claud Warren & Leita Evelyn Norris White. June 4, 1942 he married Alice Johnniebelle Melton in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Arkansas. On the 1940 census Ralph was in Wichita, Sedgwick, Ks working as a salesman and states he is married but no wife was listed. On December 19, 1938 he and Helen White were divorced. No marriage record has been found. October 16, 1940 Ralph regisgtered for the military darft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. September 23, 1940 he enlisted in the US Army. On his enlistment paper he says he is divorced and has completed 3 years of high school. His civil occupation is "salesperson". He enlisted in the Field Artillery from the National Guard. After the war Ralph received a degree for the University of Arkansas. Ralph Warren White passed away December 27, 1975 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas. His burial was in he Rose Lawn Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. At the borrom of this record are 11 pages written by his daughter about his "story in the army".
