Homer Lafate Waters was born August 11, 1910 at Arbuckle Island, Sebastian Co., Ar. to James Massey & Sary Elizabeth Graham Waters. On the 1910 census record the family was living at Vine Prairie, Crawford, Arkansas. Older brother Mitchell says he was born in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. in 1909. December 24, 1946 Homer married Anna J. Michon at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they both resided. October 16, 1940 Homer registered for the military draft at Mt. Sandels, Barling, Sebastian Co. Arkansas. He enlisted in the US Navy October 1, 1942 and served until October 8, 1945. Nothing more is known about his service except for the muster record below. Homer Lafate Waters passed away November 27, 1985 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in the Barling Cemetery at Barling, Sebastian Co., Ar.
