Joseph "Joe" Lawrence Ward was born May 19, 1919 at Bloomer, Sebastian Co., Ar. to
Almo Franklin & Laura Alice Moore Ward.
He married Muriel Elizabeth Bradley. No date has been found.
Joe registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Bloomer, Sebastian Co.,
Arkansas. He enlisted with the US Air Force. The date is unknown but he served until
January 5, 1944.
Joe passed away April 14, 2007 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. where he resided.
His burial was in Oak Valley Cemetery at Lavaca.

Joe was a retired brick mason for Manhattan Construction Company, an Army Air Corps
veteran of World War II, member of the United Brick Masons Union, coached Lavaca Little
League Baseball, served on the Lavaca School Board, taught Sunday School and was a 50
year member of the First United Methodist Church in Lavaca.
He is survived by his wife,
Muriel; a daughter, Carole Moore; three sons, Larry, Bruce and Dr Bob Ward; two sisters,
Dorothy Been and Wanda Jones; a brother, Roger Ward; nine grandchildren, 12 great-
grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
