Albert Jackson Underwood was born January 31, 1923 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Jackson McKinley & Mary Alice Brotherton Underwood. May 24, 1952 he married Alene Daughter in Loagan Co., Arkansas.

No dates have been found for his time in the US Army.

Albert passed away June 18, 2014 at Riverdale, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in Lavaca Cemetery, Lavaca, Ar.

Albert Jackson "Fish" Underwood, who resided in the Riverdale Community, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his home. He was born January 31, 1923 near Arbuckle Island, east of Lavaca in Sebastian County, Arkansas to the late McKenley Jackson Underwood and Mary Alice (Brotherton) Underwood. He was 91 years old.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four sisters, Margie Blankenship, Norma Harriman, Phyllis Erp; and Clara White, and a brother, Pete Underwood.

Albert retired from Dale Crampton Roofing Company in Fort Smith. He was a WWII Army veteran and was a Baptist. He loved fishing and enjoyed hunting indian artifacts.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21st, at Riverdale Freewill Baptist Church, located east of Lavaca. Burial will be at Island Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be Bro. Richard Shotzman.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alene; one daughter, Pam Davis and husband Roy of Riverdale; one sister, Mildred Casey of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Max Nason, Richard Slate, David Berkshire, Jackie Franklin, Gary Franklin, and Brian Nichols.

Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Reed, Harold Conner, Carroll Collett, Mike Walker, Jack Masterson, Curtis Nichols, Bob Martin, Mark Martin, Jeff Smith, Gene DeCoster, and Danny Uselton.
