James Edward Thompson was born August 30, 1923 at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Arkansas to George Arthur & Dora Pearl Stem Thompson. Decemger 13, 1946 he married Betty B. Stewart at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they both resided. James enlisted in the US Army May 19, 1943 and served until March 26, 1946. His final rank was T/5. James passed away November 17, 1980. HIs burial was in the Nation Cemetery in Fort Smith,Arkansas.
