Charles M. Terwilliger was born June 1, 1920 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Ar, to John Louis, Sr. & Vora Bird Ervin Terwilliger. He married Maxine Roberta Hough at Crawford Co., Arkansas although both were residents of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., A. The family is listed on the 1920 Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar census.

Charles enlisted in the US Army January 6, 1941 in the Field Artillery. He states that he has completed 3 years of high school. Nothing more is found about his time in the sevice except for what is on his biography below. He is confused with Charles C. Terwilliger sometimes but they are not the same person. He and Maxine are found in the 1951 Ft Smith City Directory.

I have found no death record for him. There is an obit for his wife Maxine who was buried in the Fort Smith National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ar. Her marked gives Major Charles Terwilliger as her spouse. Her obit is below. Also found is an obit for Charles' sister Bettye who passed away August 14, 2017. One of her siblings, Charles was still living. She was b. 1924. Charles was living in Fort Smith at the time of his sister's death.
