William Omer Terry was born August 4, 1917 in Marion Co., Indiana to
Sidney Omar & Lillian Louise Miller Terry.
William registered for the military draft in Beaumont, Jefferson Co., Texas
October 16, 1940 where he was working at that time. He enlisted at Fort .Same
Houston, Texas December 2, 1941. He was killed in action August 3 , 1943
in Sicily.

WILLIAM TERRY FUNERAL SLATED
Funeral service for Private First Class William O. Terry, 27 years old,
who was killed in action August 3, 1943 in Sicily, will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday at the Edwards Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Norman Ferguson, pastor
of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at National Cemetery.
The body will arrive at Edwards Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon from Memphis,
Tennessee.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney O. Terry, Route 3, Fort Smith;
two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Dolan, Fort Smith and Miss Mary Belle Terry of the home;
and four brothers, James, Beaumont, Texas, Claud H., Fort Smith, Robert,
Seattle, Washington, and Joe of the home.
