Robert Hugh Terry was born April 25, 1924 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Sidney Omar & Lillian Louise Miller Terry. May 11, 1845 he married Uldine Roberta Long from the state of Washington. They were divorced December 15, 1951 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. On the 1950 census they were living in Tacoma, Washington with 3 children. His second marriage was to Daisy M. Stroup Jamison. She shares his marker in the Fort Smith National Cemetery.

Robert's military career was different than most others. He served in WWII, Korean War and Vietnam. His first enlistment was in the US Navy. He enlisted July 23, 1942 and was discharges October 15, 1945. His rank was EM3c. Some of his muster records are below. March 12, 1948 he enlisted in the US Army and served until May 31, 1956. He re-enlisted June 11, 1956 and served until June 30, 1965 His occupation on the 1950 federal census of Tacoma Washington was "Engineer working for Armed Forces - Gov". Robert Hugh Terry passed away December 4, 2000 at Tacoma, Pierce Ciunty, Washington. His burial was in the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
