Jesse Allen Steelman was born February 24, 1924 at Pocola, Oklahoma to Jesse Frank & Bertha V Carlile Steelman. June 4, 1955 while residing in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. he married Vera Sue York of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Jesse registered for the military draft June 30, 1942 at Fort Smith, Ar. He enlisted in the US Army Novembr 9, 1943 and served until April 24, 1946. On his enlistment he says he is a farm hand doing general farming. His dduty while serving was "tank driver". Nothing more is known about his time in the service. Jesse Allen Steelman passed away October 21, 1982 with his burial being in Rose Lawn Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
