George Matthew Riley was born September 4, 1911 to Thomas Patrick & Mary Josephine Crawford Riley in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He married Geneva Eugenia McLellan January 29, 1939 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they both resided. I have not found a date for his registration for the draft but his service began July 24, 1943 and ended August 29, 1944. His final rank was Pfc in the US Air Force. George passed away June 3, 1968 with his burial being in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. ============================= Southwest American Fort Smith, Arkansas June 4, 1968 Rosary for George Mathew Riley, 57, Oklahoma City who died Monday at Wichita Falls, Kansas, will be held at 7p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Church. Burial will be at National Cemetery. Mr. Riley was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, George, Wichita Falls; two brothers, Bud and Paul, Fort Smith; two sisters, Mrs. (Margaret) Tony Homan and Mrs. (Susan) Bob Kelly, Fort Smith and two grandchildren.
