James Henry Quenin
1916-2003


James Henry Quenon was born October 11, 1916 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Henry Andrews & Lois A. Price Quenin. No marriage record has been found for him but his wife was Jeanne Navant, born in France.

James enlisted in the Signal Corps October 14, 1940 in Houston, Texas but he served in the Air Force from October 14, 1940 until August 30, 1968. He states on his enlistment papers he has completed 2 years of college. During his WWII service his plane was shot down over Germany. He was wounded on his parachute landing and captured by German soldiers. The story of that is in the newspaper clippings below.

James Henry Quenon passed away at Huntington Beach, Orange Co., California January 9, 2003. His burial was in Forest Park Cemetery at Fort Smith, Arkansas.

James Quenin HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.
James Henry Quenin, 86, of Huntington Beach, Calif., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Huntington Beach. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; a son, Henry Quenin of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a sister, Jeannie Thompson of Little Rock; two brothers, Paul Quenin of Fort Smith and Hugh Quenin of Bella Vista.
