Luther Everett Oxford was born July 27, 1921 and. according to his draft
registration card. at Hartford, Sebastian Co., Ar. . His parents were
Jesse Everett & Zora P. Duncan Oxford.
He married his first wife, Irlean Williams February 27, 1940 at
Russellville, Pope Co., Ar. They are found on the Fort Smmith, Sebastian
Co., Ar. 1940 census there. They divorced April 7, 1942. After the war
Luther married Wilma Hamilton of Clarksville, Johnson Co., Ar.
They both resided there at that time.
Luther registered for the military draft in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. on
February 16, 1942. No record for his enlistment has been found. Other information

Luther Everett Oxford passed away June 7, 1971 and is buried in Coop
Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield, Scott Co., Arkansas. A note on his find a grave
listing says
"This wonderful man had to die before his time. He was killed in a boating
accident in 1971. This truly broke our hearts. Behind he left his wife Wilma,
his son Charles his mom and three sisters. I am one of those sisters and I
will love him forever."
