1942 Sam Norvell. Jr. was born June 14, 1924 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Samuel Hubert, Sr. & Amanda Malissa Venable Norell. He married Pauline "Polly" Walker November 15, 1947 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Sam registered for the military draft June 30, 1942. He enlisted May 19, 1943 at Little Rock, Ar. He states he has completed 4 years of high school. He again enlisted March 30, 1946 and served until June 14, 1984. Along with his military service, when he was in the Army Natl. Guard, he was employed also at OG&E in Fort Smith. The rest of his military story is in the clippings below. Sam passed away January 17, 2002 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in the National Cemetery there.
